Cleveland Park is a neighborhood in the shadow of the National Cathedral with many wonderful old historic homes. There are huge old Queen Ann and Victorian mansions and not so huge Wardman style town houses. And like many parts of the District of Columbia, the market looks pretty darned great! Last year, the number of homes that sold decreased from 38 in 2010 to 34. And the homes that did sell took longer to attract offers. But once the offers came in, all of the price numbers increased. There were higher highs and higher lows! The average and median prices were also higher than in 2010.
Cleveland Park is a special neighborhood. It started out as "the country", where people came for cool summer air so they could get away from the sweltering heat. It was Grover Cleveland's equivalent of Camp David - the Summer White House.(It's since been torn down!)
There are amazing restaurants. There is a Metro stop to take the residents to work. And the neighborhood has a bit of a WOW factor.
There are currently five wonderful homes for sale in Cleveland Park. If you'd like more information on any of them, please contact me!

I met him at the National Cathedral. He was on the upper level of the National Cathedral, where you can go for the most spectacular view of Washington,DC. And even with bad teeth, he's got that twinkle that makes him, well, flirtworthy!

This is the Canterbury Pulpit at Washington, DC's National Cathedral. There have been many amazing sermons and eulogies delivered from this spot. Rev. Martin Luther King delivered his last sermon from the Canterbury Pulpit, just days prior o his assassination.
Whether you live in the Washington area or are visiting the Capital, this cathedral is an inspiring place to visit - on Sunday or any other day of the week.

I took an elevator ride to the 7th floor of the National Cathedral late this afternoon, and to the west, there was this wonderful sunset. My new camera is fun

This afternoon, I dropped by an Open House in the shadow of the National Cathedral. As I stepped out, I looked south and saw the spire with the scaffolding around it. Then I realized it was for the earthquake repairs. The church is closed to the public while they are being completed.
A few months ago I read Ken Follett's Pillars of the Earth. It was about medieval cathedral builders, and a few times there were little collapses, once during services, and some worshipers were killed or injured. Guess the guys in charge here are taking a the precautions seriously.
