Today I got to be a passenger for a change, and took in a hill that goes up from Rock Creek Parkway to Georgetown. This week, it is covered with bright yellow daffodils. Since I wasn't driving, I grabbed my I-Phone and got snapped this during a moment of slow traffic. This is just a beautiful drive!
Ah! Springtime in Washington! And we haven't even gotten to the cherry blossoms yet!

This is a bridge over Rock Creek along the bicycle path. I took it from the car (no, I wasn't driving) speeding along Beach Drive after a last week's snow. It was a really, really gray day, and this was a color shot!

Rock Creek runs through Washington, DC. This photo makes it pretty obvious how it got its name A couple of days after a snow, it looks like this.
I'm lucky enough to take this route to and from work every day.

Any time of the year when you are looking for a perfect photo opp, Washington's Rock Creek will oblige. But in the fall, it's even more perfect than usual. So when I headed out with my trusted Nikeon D80 (yes, today, I used my big girl camera), I was very happy to come across this scene.
While many of the leaves are still quite green, there are spotches of yellow, orange and red. Sometime over next weekend, it will probably peak.
I, for one, can't wait!

Rock Creek Park's Pierce Mill is reopening today, with restorations completed. It will be opened to the pubic on weekends between 10 AM and 4 PM.
This wonderful old stone structure is located at the corner of Tilden Road and Beach Drive, right on the Creek.
When I took this photo yesterday, the leaves were just beginning to change. I love the way they look against the old stone struture.
