Ganesha The Elephant God in IndiaIn case many of you don't know I have a new hobby-Photography with my phone (Don't know which camera to get yet. Any suggestions?)So I have decided to use my love for my new hobby for my other new hobby-viewing Art and Sculptures. Last Thursday when I visited the Sackler Gallery of Art on 1050 Independence Avenue SW,I took a picture of the Ganesha.

In India Ganesha is the Elephant God. It is known to Hindus as the remover of obstacles and is often invoked at the initiation of new projects or at the entrance to temples. His blessing brings good fortune and insures prosperity. Bless me Lord.:-) Happy Sunday everyone.

James Downing - REALTOR®,GRI, ABR - DC Real Estate: Real Estate Agent in Washington, DC

Like so many government projects; we hear things long before we see the results - or even the project started. But now it seems a project - will be happening which has been long talked about and even longer awaited.

DC waterfront projects will be seeing some redevelopment over the next 5 years. The SW waterfront will be transformed from the small fish markets and restaurants into a huge neighborhood with residential, office space a new hotel more boat slips and lots of parking.

The first two new buildings are now above grade and noticeable as one passes by. The path of the new 4th Street SW is visible in the photo below. 4th Street will curve around the existing Metrorail station.

St. Augustine’s Episcopal Church (600 M Street SW, Washington, DC) A church representative attended the ANC 6D01 Meeting and discussed the possibility of selling the church site to developers. The representative said no decision has been made at this time. St. Augustine's Episcopal Church's property abuts the land that is part of the District's redevelopment of the Southwest Waterfront being led by PN Hoffman-Struever Brothers.
