The Watergate is a special place, and when you walk into one of the units there, you never know what you'll find.
Today, I walked into Unit 1114 at Watergate North., a beautiful unit that Melissa Chen and Andrea Evers have listed. And it took my breath away!

From the time I walked through the door into the marble-floored foyer, I could see the fabulous view of the Potomac River. Whether the day is hazy or totally clear, the river is right there,
off the big balcony.
As I walked into the living room, really more of a great room, I realized the place was completely huge. In fact, it's 3200 square feet of beautifully finished and tastefully decorated space.
The kitchen looks like the kind of place where a professional chef would tape a show on the Food Network. It has high quality custom cabinetry, granite counters and it's open to the living area. This means that if you're entertaining and also the cook, you won't be isolated from your guests.
There are three bedrooms, and 3 1/2 baths. There is a pantry off the kitchen and a laundry room.
There are currentlly 32 units for sale in The Watergate. They range from a low of $275,000 for a studio that would be a great pied-a-terre, to $3.5 million for a 2915 square foot unit in Watergate South, with a lot in-between. But 1114 in the North building is my personal favorite!

The Watergate Cooperatives: Washington, DC's Quintessential Urban Village
An old friend of mine who was a violinist/lawyer, often invited friends to his riverfront apartment at The Watergate for chamber music parties,
where he could show off his Stradivarius violin. He often attended concerts steps away at the Kennedy Center, and his law office was in the Watergate Office Building. His car rarely left it's parking place in the building's garage.
He chose the Watergate for the same reason many of the residents of it's 600-ish units love the complex.
For music lovers, they can enjoy wonderful performances at Kennedy Center without having to search the always-full garage. Even if your office isn't in the Watergate office building, you can walk to K Street or the White House. Or the Metro is a few blocks away, making it easy to get to the Capitol or National Airport.
The complex also has every amenity you can imagine.
There are currently 32 units for sale, priced from a low of $335,000 (for a 910 square foot one-bedroom) to a high of $3,500,000 (for a 2910 square foot unit overlooking the Potomac River).
Here is a list of the units that are currently for sale at the Watergate, most with virtual tours. If you are considering the purchase of a condominium or cooperative in the Washington, DC area, please contact me. I can help!
