What type of living can you expect in Mid to Southern Delaware?

Terri Favata, Broker, Kent & Sussex County Delaware: Real Estate Agent in Milford, DE

What type of living can you expect in Mid to Southern Delaware?

Ask yourself this:

Do you wanna be close enough to everything a city offers, but not too close? If thats what you have in mind, then Mid to Southern Delaware is probably a place you should flag.

Its close enough to a few cities like, Wilmington, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Annapolis, as well as Washington DC. But its not too close that you spend more time in your car stuck in traffic than you do with family at home =]. Thats always a plus to me anyway!

Delaware has what I would like to call, four types of living. Town living, country living, beach living, and city living (for Wilmington, Newark area only). What type of living would you like to be in?

Town living is pretty much standard to most people. You know your close enough to Walmart if you need something quick. Everything is right there for you within a matter of say...five minutes (give or take). This would include neighborhoods in town, as well as homes outside of neighborhoods. Not crowded but enough people around for your kids to have friends, people around if you need help, and friends for the new neighbors to make.

Country living (thats the living I do) is growing more and more popular by the second. This is when you live outside of town, your still fairly close in some areas, but you can go to extreme measures and be twenty to thirty minutes from anything. Less extreme would be ten to fifteen minutes. You could still live in a neighborhood, or out of neighborhood. You may have close neighbors, and you may not. You may own over a acre, a couple acres, or just under an acre. It really all depends on where you are and what you are looking at. This area is normally not crowded at all. Your kids may or may not have friends close enough to play with everyday, but they are only a short drive away. You may not have anyone close enough if you need help, but you may, it depends on how close those neighbors are!

Now beach living! Thats my kind of living, even if I never get to experience it. You live relatively close to the beach areas. You may be able to see the beach, you may be able to walk to it, or you may still have to drive. Either case, I am sure you can at least smell the beach in the summer time. They say the living is easy at the beach, but in the summer time here to beaches are crowded and traffic...well...stinks. But its worth it if you want to be close to all of nice places to eat, good shopping deals (tanger outlets), and much much more. This area is going to be more crowded in the summer of course. But if you live in an area where you dont see many tourists than your not going to be too hurt by the change of seasons. Depending on where you live your kids may or not have companions close by, but again probably not too far away either. Lots of adults live in this area so you should not have a problem making friends (if you want them! [= )

City living is living in the city. Apartments, condos, those kinds of things. You may have a yard, you may not. Parking garages, parking on the street, if your lucky you may have a driveway. Everything is at your fingertips, you can probably walk to some places if you want. Things are always busier in the city!

Now with that said. Mid to Southern Delaware obviously is home to only three types of living, if any of those fit you, then read on!

No matter which three areas you choose to live in, the things you can find to do are going to be about the same. The cities which are probably no more than one to two hours away offer things like aquariums, zoos, concerts, shows, water parks, Theme parks, shopping, baseball games, basketball games and football games.

So your close, but not too close as I like to say. Its not something you would have to do everyday, but if you wanted to, its reachable.

The beach area offers shopping, water parks, THE BEACH, boardwalk life, put put golf, surf lessons, and things of that nature. This is also only about half hour to an hour from Mid Delaware, say the Dover area.

So yeah, thats pretty much all there is to it! If you want to check out home in Kent or Sussex County Delaware, you know what to do!

Nascar comes to Delaware!!!

If you have ever been to a Nascar race in another state, I suggest you come to Delaware for a race sometime. The location is perfect, the State Capitol is jammed-pack with people, and there are things to do EVERYWHERE.

Dover International Speedway - The Monster Mile®

Septmber 19-21, 2008. Right here in our little town of Dover.

After living in Delawre all my life, I still CAN NOT understand how we fit so many people into this town during race weekend. I mean how does traffic survive without being jammed up for days? There are only two main roads in, and two main roads out. Sure there are back roads, but a majority of the people come into to Dover, Delaware on Rt 1 or Rt 13. It amazes me!

The campers, I mean thousands, tens of thousands, maybe even hundreds of thousands all lined up, in the lots, radios on, coolers filled, grills going, ready for the weekend!

This monster mile is no joke! Live music, autographs, booths, memorbilia, fans, food, I mean who wouldnt want to come to Dover Delaware and check it out just once!

And last but not least, the track has had a serious makeover! You really just NEED to come and see this sometime. The legendary, Miles the MONSTER. He is huge, I mean gigantic, enormous, rediculously incredibly ginormous! I hear he stands almost 50 ft tall, and holds a car in his hand. Not a toy car, a real live everyday car. You have to see him! From Rt 1, which I would say is about 10 football fields away maybe more, he still looks huge. Watch out kids, he might be a little scary for the younger ones!

Nascar racing in Dover Delaware is a sure thing! No one wants to miss out on the racing or the fun! Come to Dover Delaware and check it out!
