The next team's captains meeting for Milford Relay for Life will be held on April 30th at the Milford Elks Lodge, Elks Lodge Road, Milford starting at 7 p.m.
May 1st
 1st Annual Golf Tournment
Harrington Parks and Recreation 1st annual Golf Tournament Scramble Formet will be held on Friday, May 1st, at Jonathan's Landing Golf Course, Magnolia. 9 a.m. registration, tee off at 10 a.m. Cost is $80 per person or $300 for a foursome. Cost includes golf, cart, open range, luncheon. Awards and prizes to follow. Proceeds will benefit the Harrington Parks and Recreation Department. For more information call 398-7975, 103 or 670-0028.

 Vera Bradley/Silent Auction
The Wellness Community-Delaware will sponsor a Vera Bradley/Silent Auction on Thursday, May 7th from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Sheraton Hotel. Registration and doors open at 6 p.m. Games start at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door. For more information call 734-0898. Proceeds will benefit the Wellness Community-Delaware.

 Community Yard Sale
Trinity Wesleyan Church, 1564 South State Street, Dover is having a community yard sale on Saturday, May 9th from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Rain date is May 16th. For more information call 632-5870.

 Car Wash
There will be a car wash on Saturday, May 9th at the Harrington Moose Lodge from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Hot dogs and sodas will be for sale. Proceeds will benefit the Little Spartans Delaware Early childhood center. For more information call 535-4496.

 Yankees/Orioles Baseball Game
You can go see the Yankees vs. Orioles at Camden Yard, Baltimore on Sunday, May 10th at 1:35 p.m. Bring your family and friends and support the Ribbon Cap Club, Milford Relay for Life Team. Proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society Relay for Life being held June 19th and 20th, Milford Middle School grounds.

 52nd Annual Hospital Fair
The Bayhealth Milford Memorial Hospital Auxiliary's 52nd annual Hospital Fair will be held on May 16th on the grounds of Milford Middle School, Seabury Avenue, Milford. A lasagna dinner and concert featuring The Honeycomobs will be held on May 15th in the Middle School cafeteria and auditorium.

 Annual Open House
The Ellendale Vol. Fire company's annual open house will be held on Saturday, May 23rd from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. There will be vehicle extractions, refreshments and table displays. There will also be a parade of antique fire equipment starting at 11 a.m. For more information call 302-381-9780.

 Spring Scrappin' and Stampin' Event

 American Cancer Society Golf Tournament
The ninth annual Kent County Tournament of Hope golf outing in support of the Relay for Life Milford will be held June 10th at Shawnee Country Club, Milford. Registration is 11:30 a.m., tee-off is 1:00 p.m. Four man scramble format. Entry fee is $100 and includes lunch, range balls, golf, putting contest, drinks, snacks, and prizes. The BIG news is taxpayers buying a home in the near future (or those who have bought since the law passed) can amend their 2008 tax return, this will allow them to claim the home buyer credit on the 2008 return without waiting until next year to claim it on the 2009 return!

Delaware Realtor Saves clients money

If you have not filed the 2008 taxes yet you may file a extension until 15 Oct. to be able to claim the credit this year.

For some people it may make more sense to wait until 2009 and before making any quick decisions contact your accountant for guidance.
