The Rehoboth Beach Country Club golf course has retained its designation as a certified Audubon cooperative sanctuary through the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for Golf Courses, an Audubon International program. Rehoboth Beach Country Club is one of only 798 courses in the world to receive the honor.
The program, endorsed by the U.S. Golf Association, provides information and guidance to help golf courses preserve and enhance wildlife habitat and protect natural resources. In order to aceive this status, a course must demonstrate that it's maintaining a high degree of environmental quality in a number of areas such as environmental planning, wildlife and habitat management, education, chemical use reduction and safety, water conservation and water quality management.
Way to go Rehoboth. We are very proud of your accomplishment!

Best Places to Retire, Rehoboth Beach Delaware, being tax friendly to residents is a big thing on a fixed income, such as when you are retired. Five States offer "No Sales Tax at All", they are: Alaska, Delaware, Montana, New Hapshire, and Oregon. But as you can see, most of these states are located in the northern part of the U.S. Delaware is the only state that has relatively mild temperatures all year long. And when you purchase something as large as a new automobile, you will save considerable money as opposed to other states that charge sales tax.
Rehoboth Beach and surrounding areas has a small town feel. Being a beach town, when most of the population comes from traffic from the north in the summer months, it is quite pleasant 9 months a year. No Traffic, no crowds, no lines and everything is easily accessable. Basically, during the summer months, you get the crowds on the weekends. So enjoying everything you like during the week makes it comfortable. But again, most of the crowd in the summer during the weekends is mainly located in specific areas, and probably won't bother you at all.
When thinking of the best places to retire, Rehoboth Beach comes to mind because of the affordable housing and the low Property Taxes. Couple this with the No Sales tax and you have a winner! However, you need more than no sales tax and low property tax to attrach buyers of homes and condos, you need ammenities.
Rehoboth Beach and surrounding areas are loaded with ammenities. What ever you like to do, you can find it here. And if it is not here, you will know you are around 2 hours from Washington DC, New York City, Philadelphia, Baltimore and the Pocono Mountains for you skiing buffs.
In best places to retire, you are most likely looking for such things as relaxation, sports that meet your pace such as golf and tennis, shopping, nice beaches to lay out on, fine dining, musical theather, movie theathers, water sports, fishing and crabbing, or just walking on the board walk.
There are also night clubs, horse racing, gambling casinos, fair ground where top notch country entertainers perform and about 40 miles north is a the world famous Dover Downs, where twice a year NASCAR comes to town.

Winter Golf in Sussex County Delaware Milton The Rookery. I own a home in Lewes Delaware, so it makes sense to belong to a golf club for me, and I have choosen The Rookery Golf Club located in Milton DE. The staff in friendly and the members are as well.
Playing winter Golf is Sussex County in the winter is iffy at best. The weather plays some what of a part in our decesion to play, but as I said, rain or shine we are there, even if it only to eat breakfast. Early January right after Christmas, after you have gotten your new gear for gifts, well you just have to try them. So out we go, not always bringing the new gear, but we imagine it will be that much better when summer rolls around and we can finally use it for sure.
My first friend Tom, pictured right mainly comes for the food. Today, January 16, he had two breakfasts and lunch! Tom was the first one today to get the birdie parade rolling. Notice his Tiger-like concentration as he hits his ball, he is a man on a mission! But I can't help but think as I watch him play if he is thinking about golf or food!
Bill, my second friend here pictured left is a realtor like me (not pictured here). He brings his cell phone to the course while playing winter golf in Sussex county, and you would think he would keep it on vibrate, but he doesn't, her answers it all day long. And we often can find ourselves falling behind, but thanks to my amazing play we keep up! He generally rides with Tom, and the two can often be found arguing over who is going to hit there next shot. Bill would say "You hit the ball, I'm on the Phone." To which Tom would reply, "No, you hit the ball, I'm eating." But again thanks to my amazing play while playing winter golf in Sussex County, we keep up.
Jim (pictured right) my third friend here, is a retired union pipe fitter, he talks like he is from Jersey, no make that a gutter in Jersey! He often says offending things to his golf ball, but come on, in his down swing! He actually had the round of the day, but still my play was amazing.
I think the world of my friends and I often say, they can walk on water, which is correct because that is where they usually hit it.
The average temperature for Sussex County Delaware in January varies from a low of 25 to a high of 44. Average percipatation is 3.8 inches. Depending on where the temperatures are depends on how much snow we get, but being close to the salt water of the ocean, the snow generally doesn't last too long. When it does, they close the course and our only option is breakfast. While playing winter golf in Sussex County, there are plenty of options, as there are many private and public golf courses to choose from. Most of them are open all year around. So play only slows down for the weak at heart.
There are also plenty of opportunities for investments into real estate. Or you can retire here and purchase a home for the tax free living, or the low property taxes. Either way, buying a home in Sussex County will assure you the chance to be out there playing winter golf in Sussex County with me. Contunue to read my different blogs and subscribe to them to learn more about living in Sussex County Delaware. A place to make memories in.
