The area known as Old Floresta Historic District is one of the prettiest areas in Boca Raton. Covering only a small number of streets, it is characterized by lush, tropical landscaping that lines the streets and homes, streets that are named after flowering plants. The neighborhood of Old Floresta dates back to the 1920s when Addison Mizner had a vision for a resort area in Boca Raton.

Addison Mizner was an architect who came to Palm Beach in the 1920s for his health. He was living and working in Palm Beach designing homes for a wealthy clientele. He gathered a group of investors together to build The Cloister Inn, a resort, in Boca Raton known today as the Boca Raton Resort & Club. To house his friends and family, he was going to build 29 homes on a parcel of land nearby. This parcel of land became what is known today as Old Floresta. Unfortunately, with the deep depression of the late 1920s, Mizner went bankrupt, but he is still very well revered in the city of Boca Raton.

His classic Mediterranean style of barrel tile roofs, stucco, wrought iron railings and loggias are apparent throughout the city. Many, many places are name for Addison Mizner; Mizner Park, Mizner's Preserve, Addison Trace, Mizner Grand, Mizner Pointe, The Addison - both the condo and the restaurant, Addison Mizner School, Addison Reserve, even Mizner Bark, our dog park! - the list goes on and on.

Currently, there are 11 single family homes on the market in the Old Floresta Historical District. They start at $ $ 724,000 with 4 bedrooms and 2.1 baths with 3942 total square footage and go up to $ 2,500,000 for a 5 bedroom 5.1 wit 5944 total square feet.

Some of the original homes are incorporated into the homes today. There is no HOA in Old Floresta; therefore, no restrictions.
