Estero Hyatt earns green-lodging designation

The Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort & Spa is the first hotel in the state to earn the highest level as a Florida Green Lodging, represented by a three-palm-tree symbol.

Florida Green Lodgings is the voluntary program that recognizes businesses conserving energy and natural resources, and helping to prevent pollution.

It is overseen by the state Department of Environmental Protection.

Estero's Hyatt has been a leader among Florida Green Lodgings, becoming first in the state to score the two-palm designation, in 2006, and one of the first four hotels to earn the first level or one-palm-tree recognition, in 2004.
