Cease To Be In Force

When certain events occur, a license will cease to be in force. The licensee cannot conduct business until the DBPR is properly notified.

For Example: When a sales associate leaves one brokerage seeking to work for another- until the associate is registered with the DBPR under the new employer, the sales associate cannot work. The license cease to be in force until the sales associate registers with the new broker.

The DBPR must be notified within 10 days when either of the following actions occur
- A Broker or school changes business address
- A Sales associate or instructor changes employer
If a licensee fails to give proper notification of a change in business address or employer within 10 days, in may result in FREC discipline proceedings
Sales Associates who are no longer employed with a broker will be placed on involuntary inactive status.
