About Fort Myers Beach's Pink Shell Resort

On the northern tip of Estero Island, better known as Fort Myers Beach, is located the Pink Shell Beach Resort & Spa. It consists of three Gulf front buildings all with stunning views of the Gulf of Mexico. The newest of the buildings is the Captiva Villas. The building has been open now for approximately 3 years and owners and guests are enjoying the amenities.

The photo on the left will become the dining area and will overlook the pool and on to the Gu8lf beyond. The right photo shows the interior courtyard. The resort is well known for family vacations, weddings, business meetings and , of course, our laid back lifestyle.

Condo hotels consist of individually owned units and provide owner use with rental income when the unit is available. Rental income is split between the owner and management company. The management company is responsible for all day to day operations and long term management of the resort. Owners like the combination of personal use, rental income and the potential of appreciation.

Units in the Captiva Villas are priced from $325,000 and gaurantee a minimum of two weeks owner usage during winter season and another 2 weeks during off season. All maintenance, marketing, cleaning, etc are handled by the resort.

Prime location on Fort Myers Beach makes condo hotel ownership a pleasure as well as a business investment.

Fort Myers Beach is a barrier island snuggled next to Fort Myers in Southwest Florida. Fort Myes Beach is a barrier island approximately 8 miles long and half a mile wide. The Pink Shell Beach Resort & Spa is located on the northern tip of the island. It started as a collection of cottages and has evolved into a world class resort destination. The newest addition to the resort is known as Captiva Villas. It was built next to the flagship White Sands Villas on what was an older structure.

Construction started with clearing the lot and drilling 79 holes 24" wide by 55 ft deep. Workers had constructed rigid supports from " rebar " and these were lowered into the holes after being filled with a cement slurry. These would become the supports for the building .

While these supports seem random they are set in place according to the very specific measurements of the architect. The columns are the only support beneath the entire building !

As each floor is poured, and supported by forms, the crew makes sure all codes and structures required by the builder are carefully put in place. Crews working on the project must wear safety equipment.

Even at this early stage of construction the views are amazing. Passersby and guests of the resort watch the daily progress and wonder what the final product will look like. Some wonder if they should buy a unit and enjoy life on Fort Myers Beach !

The building will eventually consist of seven floors with 6 individual condos per floor. In my next installment we will see the building take shape and have a look at some of the units.
