WOW!!!  If you are looking for preschool and after-care options in Julington Creek Plantation look no further than THE ACADEMY AT JULINGTON CREEK.  We had a chance to tour the 20,000 sq ft facility and were so impressed we wanted to share it with you!!!  Join us as the Executive Director, Marcia Pozin tours us around the Center and educates us on all the different school and program options.

Never before has attending high school been so exciting. Easy for me to say as I have been out over 20 years... That said, students who live in Julington Creek Plantation and the surrounding area have many different options for high school!!

Depending upon where one lives, the "feeder" schools are either Creekside High School or Bartram Trail High School. However with the different High School Academies offered within the different schools, may actually opt to attend the high school not necessarily he/she is zoned to attend. Add to this the option of attending Nease High School in Ponte Vedra and one can see why this process can be both very exciting and overwhelming.

If you are like me you are probably asking What is a High School Acadamy?

"Academies or Programs of study are small, personalized learning communities within a high school that select a subset of students and teachers for a two, three or four year span. Students enter the program of study through a voluntary process; they must apply and be accepted with parental knowledge and support. Programs include career academies, acceleration academies and ROTC programs. ...involves teachers from different subjects working together as a team. Staff teams, who often share common planning time, work together to implement the key features of the model and provide students with exposure to the career field. Students are grouped together for several periods every day with a core group of teachers promoting a family-like atmosphere...." (St. Johns School District)

NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTION #1: Spend more time taking advantage of the JULINGTON CREEK PLANTATION GYM AND FITNESS OPTIONS at the fabulous JULINGTON CREEK PLANTATION AMENITIES CENTER!

This is the time of year where so many of us resolve to get back into shape and/or go to the gym. For those of us living in Julington Creek Plantation we are fortunate to have many fitness options with our Amenities Center. Residents of Julington Creek Plantation pay a yearly HOA (Homeowner's Association) fee as well as a CDD (Community Development District) Fee. It is VERY fair to say (at least in my humble opinion) that we receive a great deal for our fees.

The Julington Creek Plantation Amenities Center houses a "fitness floor" with Techno Gym as the main equipment machine line. For those of us intimidated by the machines there are also free weights, bands, medicine balls and much more. The cardio equipment consists of treadmills, ellipticals, recumbent and upright bikes... And, don't worry...you won't need to miss your favorite reality show as each cardio machine is equipped with a TV and iPOD docking stations.

The Julington Creek Plantation Fitness Floor at the Amenity Center is open:
Monday - Friday 5:30 am - 9:00 pm
Saturday - 7:00 am - 8:00 pm
Sunday 8:00 am - 7:00 pm

Any Julington Creek Plantation resident unsure about how to use the equipment can stop by for a Free Fitness Floor Orientation. Another great option is to sign up for Personal Training sessions (at an additional cost) to have your work-out program designed especially to help you meet your goals.

A wide variety of exercise classes are also offered at the Julington Creek Plantation Amenities Center. With over 15 different types of classes there is something for everyone. Classes run throughout the day starting at 5:45 am and ending at 8:00 pm (last class is at 7:00).

The most important element of any work out is: TO HAVE FUN!!
