Coconut Grove’s local favorites include Green Street Cafe, Monty’s Raw Bar, and Mr. Moes, Fresh Market. There are plenty of chain franchises as well, such as The Cheesecake Factory and Johnny Rockets. Shopping is also abundant in the Grove, with two large open-air malls, CocoWalk, Streets of Mayfair, and many other street shops and boutiques.

Coconut Grove's Annual Halloween Street Party 2010.
Every year, in the heart of Coconut Grove, Miami, the streets are shut down and the party begins. This massive street party overtakes the center of the grove, known as CocoWalk, every year around midnight. CocoWalk will also host an all day Coconut Grove Halloween event. But this post is about the craziness that consumes this part of Miami that is filled with small shops, restaurants, bar, and boutiques.
You have young adults ranging from 18 to 99 years old or maybe that just some of the costumes, lol. The years I have gone there it has been hilarious to see some of the creative costumes some people come up with. From teams of doctors pushing a patient on a gurney, or rather racing down the street screaming, to flashers running up to you in the street scarring you with fake things under their coats. It's a place to let loose and have fun, and allow for the creative side of you come out and make others laugh.
There is no cost to attend, but you will have trouble finding parking. You will probably need to find a spot in someone's yard to street corner near bring. Bring cash just in case the best spot is one the owner says you need to pay for. You will then need to walk blocks to get to the area that is cordoned off specifically for the biggest block party in Miami. Once there most of the entertainment is in the streets, but many dip into the bars for a refreshing alcoholic escape.

Below are some side events happening at the Grove (courtesy of Coconut Grove Grapevine and CocoWalk Marketing), as well as directions to CocoWalk and other shops, food spots, and attractions once you are there:

Beginning at 7pm, presenting the CocoWalk Halloween Bash with Performer Bryan Gonzalez will keep your hips rocking until 11pm while you enjoy beer and drink specials throughout CocoWalk. Then 11pm to 3am its DJ360Mix. Don't miss the adult costume contest Halloween night. Prizes will be given for most creative male and female and best costume male and female.

The Ivy at the Grove (3159 Commodore Plaza) is having a Coconut Grove Halloween Party on October 31, the owners Bill and Tim and they are very excited to be part of the Grove. They are offering the first 150 Grapevine readers who email them, one ticket to the party. SO Please RSVP to Halloween@theivyatthegrove.com, and mention the Coconut Grove Grapevine...CONSIDER THIS THE COUPON FOR THE PARTY...
The Great Pumpkin Carving Contest is Friday, October 29 at Fuller Street

Below is my Biography, which will help you understand more about who I am and what I can offer as a Reverse Mortgage Expert.
Phil Stevenson combines his knowledge, education, and experience with his ingenuity and ethical practice to achieve the best possible outcomes for his clients and colleagues in every endeavor. Earning a reputation among his peers and clients as a detail-oriented, organized, efficient and highly disciplined leader, the experienced reverse mortgage advisor's goal is consistent service to his clients. He puts forth full effort and works diligently to complete all tasks in the shortest time frame possible. Family values, honesty, and integrity are of utmost importance to him.
Born and raised in Miami, Stevenson is always taking the lead and trying to find new ways to succeed. He spent 8 years in the US Army Reverse and was deployed to both Afghanistan and Iraq as a Staff Sergeant. With over five years of experience in mortgage processing and origination, Stevenson has a broad understanding of the mortgage process from beginning to end. He joined Mortgage Bankers in 2008 and has been able to excel amidst the largest mortgage meltdown in U.S. history. As a reverse mortgage originator in Miami, he was a top producer for several months during 2009 and 2010 in a company that was ranked #2 in all of Florida and #25 in the entire U.S. in early 2010 for Reverse Mortgages. While others are leaving the business, he and Mortgage Bankers continue to succeed.
Stevenson earned a bachelor's in international relations with minors in economics and geography from Florida International University. Studying interest rates, money supply, and amortization tables has given him in-depth knowledge of past, current, and projected issues in the industry. His economics degree gave him a phenomenal knowledge base that allowed for a seamless transition into the mortgage business from the military.
Seniors who are in desperate need for financial help, in danger of foreclosure, and/or seeking alternative ways for retirement planning have seen Stevenson as a shining beacon of hope. Strategically creating relationships with financial professionals, he is able to assist homeowners in the areas of estate tax savings, prolonging the use of or need for retirement funds, and taking advantage of a largely unused asset, your home. As a husband and father of three, Stevenson is dedicated to improving your quality of life, when it matters most.
