Localism Challenge, Day #29: Step Up for Down Syndrome 2011

Not much need for explainin' here, folks. Have you ever met a person with Down Syndrome? If you have, chances are they've brightened your day.

It's tough to call Down Syndrome an affliction when the folks are so dang happy- but it makes it that much easier to ask for help on their behalf. Join Step Up for Down Syndrome 2011, and spend a bit of time with these special gifts from God- and the families and friends lucky enough to have their lives enriched by folks that have never met a stranger and will most likely never understand any of the fuss that's made over them.

May God bless you for participating in the event- and may the lord God above continue to send the rest of us daily reminders of how blessed we are.

Step Up for Down Syndrome 2011

Localism Challenge, Day #23: Barktoberfest

dog We're only a week away from downtown Orlando's annual Barktoberfest. What does that mean for you? It means you've got a week to get your home ready for a new 4-legged friend.

Barktoberfest is a German-themed animal rescue appreciation event that will feature authentic cuisine, drinks, bounce houses/games for children, a photo booth and raffles.

Barktoberfest is next Saturday, October 1 from 10 am - 4 pm.

Lake Eola
101 N Rosalind Ave.
Orlando, FL 32801

"Turning vacant into occupied, and 'houses' into 'homes'" has been my motto for 3 or 4 years now- and many folks have commented about how catchy the dang thing is.

My goal is to put people in houses- the people being what makes the houses homes more than simple addresses ever do. Pets are the final piece to the puzzle- a 4-legged friend welcoming you at the door says "You're home".

Event organizers ask that you "please help the Orange County Animal Services" in finding homes for the homeless dogs. I say that THEY'REhelping YOU find a new friend.

4th July In The Park!

VICK THE REALTOR® SRES, SFR, GREEN TRC, AHWD : Real Estate Agent in Orlando, FL

4th of July In The Park!

I spent some time at lake Eola in the park with

the kids today before the big festivities.

The unfortunate thing about living in Orlando is all the fireworks,

it becomes like rain or sun in the sky even for the kids, they seem to lose thier flare.

We see fireworks as many as three times a day!

Happy 4th everyone!

Heather the Realtor - Orlando, Lake Mary First Time Home Buyers, Bank Owned Homes: Real Estate Agent in Orlando, FL

I cant wait for this building to open. I live less then a 4 minute walk from it. The Paramount is directly overlooking Lake Eola, the art deco inspired Paramount includes 306 luxury residences and 7 pool deck villas, as well as 35,000 square feet of retail space, and 10,000 square feet of office space.

It features floor-to-ceiling glass windows with views of Lake Eola and the downtown skyline. It also includes on the ground floor a Publix grocery store, a Washington Mutual branch bank, condominium office space and some additional limited retail space.
