Anyone that knows me knows that I'm an advocate of Short Sales in Pensacola but everyone should know their options and sometime (not all) short selling in Pensacola is not the way to go. One time is when the banks ask you to sign a promissary note at closing for the difference. I believe this will only lead to a owner filing bankruptcy at some point. In a Pensacola Short Sale always make sure that the lender sends over a letter of forgivness with the acceptence of the short sale. This is overlooked most of the time and lenders have the right to collect this if they so desire and believe me they will.
As far as what Governor Rick Scott is saying has been heard with mixed emotions, my feeling is if the owner wants to quit claim the property or if the property is vacated thne I think they should be allowed to skip the court process, not only does it get the property off the books of the banks but it gets much needed taxes (that support the schools, firemen and policemen) back into the market place not to mention the eyesore that the property becomes to neighbors and neighborhoods alike.
