I would have to agree that the best elementary schools in the area are those in the Palmetto School district located within the Village of Pinecrest, FL. The top schools are Pinecrest Elementary, Palmetto Elementary and Sunset Elementary. I hear nothing but good things from parents with children enrolled in the schools. I also hear of parents that don't live in the area trying to get their children enrolled by any means necessary, including lying about their address.

A more honest way to take advantage of these great schools is to actually move to the Village of Pinecrest area. It is a wonderful neighborhood conveniently located south of Downtown Miami and Miami International Airport. Pinecrest encompasses approximately eight square miles and is recognized as one of the most beautiful residential areas in South Florida. Homes in the Village of Pinecrest are typically built on at least a half an acre, making for a great family neighborhood with nice houses, large backyards and great public schools. The property values may seem high but relatively speaking it is a great value for the area. Other comparable nearby areas like Coral Gables, Coconut Grove and even South Miami are much more expensive and have smaller lot sizes.
