Every so often, Adams Cameron & Co., REALTORS® has an "Open House Extravaganza!" Last weekend was one of those times. Now as you know, for this year, I've made the decision and coined the phrase "Real Estate is Great in 2008"!
Right after Christmas my business started picking up, and it has continued to do so throughout the month of January.
Now, back to our Open House Extravaganza. Our company took out a full-page, full-color ad in the Daytona Beach News Journal and every house in the ad was held open. The last time we did this a few months ago, it was a complete bust. But this one was completely different. One of our agents had 30 people come through!
I personally had 8 couples view my listing at 822 Bayridge in Port Orange and one of those couples is very interested! AND I'm now working with another couple to help them find a new home. They're currently renting a house in my own neighborhood.
So as I said in a previous post, I'm going to have a great year because I'm claiming it, saying it, praying it and believing it. And Real Estate is Great in 2008, as determined by Lisa C. Hill!

I'm going to start my annual Port Orange real estate blog with the motto I've decided to use for this year: Real Estate is Great in 2008!
In my blog titled Daytona Beach Real Estate: 2007 Year in Review, I gave many details on the history of the Daytona Beach area real estate market over the last few years. Since Port Orange is part of the Daytona Beach area, I highly recommend you read that post. As I said in the Daytona Beach post, it was at the beginning of 2006 that some real estate agents in east Volusia County, where the Daytona Beach Area Association of REALTORS is located, began to report slower sales, while I personally didn't experience the market drop until July of 2006. Meanwhile, much of the rest of the country was already a year into the real estate decline.
To see the history of Port Orange real estate, since 2000, see the chart below.

This post will almost finalize my series on the communities in Countryside, located in Port Orange Florida. For a quick re-cap, Countryside is an upscale development that consists of several smaller communities within the large one. Residents of each of these smaller communities have access to the Countryside pool, clubhouse, tennis courts, lakes and common areas.
In this post, I'll briefly describe The Meadows. The Meadows is the only section of Countryside that is maintenance-free. It consists of town houses and duplexes... well; actually they’re more like quads. Each of these little groups of homes are immaculately kept by the association itself. They’re also within walking distance to the pool, clubhouse and tennis courts.
To learn more about the other communities in Countryside, read my posts about The Hunt Club, SteeplechaseThe Villas and .

If you're considering buying real estate in Daytona Beach Florida, you may want to consider Port Orange. Port Orange is located just 5 miles south of Daytona Beach, but is a newer city, out of the way of all the special event traffic and noise.
To continue with my posts about the gorgeous community of Countryside in Port Orange Florida, today I'm going to focus on the section in Countryside called The Villas.
In The Villas you'll find where Countryside first began, back in 1983. In this section there are affordable 2 or 3 bedroom patio homes. These homes are all on small lots (also known as zero-lot lines; the usual setback rules do not apply) that are easy to maintain. The Villas is also the closest section to the community pool, clubhouse and tennis courts.
As you'll see in the photos, these homes are built
around of one the many small lakes that are found in this area. As mentioned in my previous posts, there are several smaller communities within the larger community of Countryside. This is just one of them. To find out about the others, view my posts about the brick section of Countryside called The Hunt Club, and the section that has a South Florida feel, called Steeplechase.
