Once again I'm reminded why I love this profession!

A year ago a former customer referred her daughter to me as an excited first time home buyer. Having a potential buyer in this market was incredible and I couldn't wait to call. But, it didn't take long to realize this sale wasn't going to happen in 2008.

The young lady and her fiance, while very excited hadn't faced the realities of getting a loan. Explaining the process of pre approval led them to the conclusion that they would have to secure their jobs, save money, pay off debt and work to improve their credit score. They were disappointed especially since prices seemed to be finally affordable but they said okay.

I kept in frequent contact with them and often sent homes within their criteria. It motivated them to continue on their plan. Only nine months later, everything was in line for them. They had saved a sizable downpayment, bills were paid off and job history secure. After meeting with a loan officer, they were given a pre approval letter.

We started the house hunting adventure. We were not looking at short sales, foreclosures or bank owned properties. Still there were plenty of house available for them to look at in Port St. Lucie. It took only two trips to find their dream home. I negotiated a good price, the inspections went well and it appraised a few thousand more than offered. They were delighted.

The sale closed in 45 days and today I sat with them at the closing table. Signing the stack of papers was just thrilling for them because they had their eyes on the house keys which laid on the table just within easy sight,

Being a Realtor, seeing the joy of finding the perfect house and sitting with buyers at the closing table is just incredblle. Well the joy at the closing table is closely followed by being hugged, kissed and invited a wedding.
