Representative Frishe invites you to join him and Hands Across the Sand on Saturday, February 13th to show your objection to near shore drilling in the Gulf of Mexico!

Participants all along Florida's 2,276 miles of tidal shoreline will link hands to show their love and respect for Florida's pristine beaches and their understanding of how important our beaches and waterways are to Florida's economy.

Who: All concerned Florida residents and visitors

What: Come to the beach and join Representative Frishe and Hands Across the Sand.

When: Saturday, February 13, 2010. Link hands from 1:30 - 1:45 p.m. (To participate, please arrive by 1:00 p.m.)

South Pinellas - Upham Beach to the Pinellas County Park at 4278 Gulf Blvd.

Parking: Sirata, Tradewinds Island Grand and Sandpiper Suites, County Access.

Mid-Pinellas - Treasure Island between 104th and 112th Avenues.

Parking: Bilmar spots behind Walgreens, Allied parking lot and City Beach access Parking

North Pinellas - Clearwater Beach at Pier 60

Posters are available at Tampa Bay Beaches Chamber of Commerce, 6990 Gulf Blvd.

Please allow your employees to step out to the shore line to show your commitment (from 1:15 - 1:45 p.m.); and please encourage residents and visitors to join us at the shoreline for this show of solidarity.

St. Pete Beach pool offers stroke clinics

St. Pete Beach, FL: The St. Pete Beach Aquatic Center is now registering participants 18 years and older for new Adult Stroke Clinics, focusing on Stroke Technique, Stroke Development, and Stroke Refinement. These clinics are designed for the swimmer looking to improve their front crawl for Triathlons, long distance swimming or master events. Pool time will incorporate correction drills and the opportunity to practice and instill the newly-acquired skills. The one-hour clinics will be held on February 13^th, February 27^th, March 13^th, March 27^th and April 10^th and cost $20 per clinic for St. Pete Beach residents and $25.00 for non-residents. HEALTH AND WELLNESS FAIR IN ST. PETE BEACH

ST. PETE BEACH, FL: The City of St. Pete Beach and the Tampa Bay Beaches Chamber of Commerce have partnered to host the "Building a Healthy Community" Health and Wellness Fair on Saturday, February 27th from 11:00am to 1:00pm. The fair will be held at the St. Pete Beach Community Center, 7701 Boca Ciega Drive, and is free and open to the public though donations for the Gulf Beaches Relay for Life can be made at the event. A variety of businesses and organizations will be present with products, services and valuable information on health topics for people of every age. Types of vendors include local hospitals and clinics, gyms and fitness programs, spas and massage therapists, natural and organic products and much more.
