The Country Club of Sarasota in Palmer Ranch in Sarasota, Florida is a gated community of almost 300 homes. The entrance to this neighborhood is onto Torrey Pines Blvd. from Beneva Road near the Sarasota Square shopping mall in Palmer Ranch. The Homes in the Country Club of Sarasotaare very well maintained 3 and 4 bedroom homes with pools and have backyard views of the TPC Prestancia golf course. Living in this neighborhood gives you golf cart access to the Tennis Club and to the 2 championship TPC Prestancia golf courses.

One of my favorite activities is playing tennis several times a week at Serendipity. As a member of Serendipity I can give you an insiders view of this very well maintained club. The tennis center and facilities were once part of the Country Club of Sarasota neighborhood association. In 2001 the tennis center took on its own identity and became Serendipity Tennis Club.

Serendipity is owned and managed by the Petrik family and is an upscale private club. Serendipity has 19 Har Tu clay tennis courts which 15 are lighted for night time play, a junior olympic size heated pool, a restaurant named Spin, and in 2006 the club went through an extensive renovation and opened its new premier Serenditpity Fitness Center offering weight training and spinning classes. Members of the club also have golf priveliges with the TPC Prestancia Golf Club.

The Planned Unit Development of Palmer Ranch occupies an impressive 10,500 acres of land that was originally developed by Bertha Honore Palmer in the early 1900s. Today Palmer Ranch real estate has become home to more than 25 residential communities, many of them are gated.

Residential construction began in development 33 years ago in the Country Club of Sarasota and it is still going on today. There are 3 communities, The Isles, Village Walk, and Palmer Oaks, actively building new homes in Palmer Ranch today.

Though Country Club of Sarasota is the oldest neighborhood in the Ranch, it offers some of the most timeless styles. Lot sizes are big in this community and the landscaping is quite impressive. Many large trees adorn the community offering a lot of shade and that forest living feel. Nearly every home in the development sits cheek and jowl to the fairways of the Club Course, one of the two golf courses in neighboring Prestancia.

These are some photos of the American White Pelican that migrate from Canada to Country Club of Sarasota during the winter months and a American Bald Eagle that makes his home here. The Country Club of Sarasota has many natural lakes and wetlands that make this place the perfect spot during the winter months for the pelicans.

And, check out the American Bald Eagle that is resting on the my neighbors chimney. There's actually two eagles that make their home here in Country Club of Sarasota.
