If you're searching for Downtown Sarasota real estate, you've probably checked out Towles Court, Washington Park, Laurel Park and Burns Court. Be sure you don't miss Towles Court.
Last night, Sandy Whitehead and I, stopped by Towles Court to visit Karin Riccardi's art gallery. Karin's gallery is located on the second floor, first gallery to the left at the top of the stairs in the main building of Towles Court. If you haven't visited this wonderful artist colony, keep in mind that new exhibits are hung the third Friday of every month from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Unique paintings and artwork line the walls of the center hall of the main building. Private galleries are featured throughout the main building and also sprinkled around the neighborhood in individual bungalows.

The grounds of Towles Court are creatively dotted with fountains, sculpture and landscape. Wander along paths and discover a potter whose style will be perfect for your next graduation, wedding or anniversary gift. Pick up your favorite "piece" and save it for the best occasion. Support the Towles Court artists and enjoy giving something made in Sarasota.

Many artists in the Towles Court area purchase their buildings. Some of these bungalows double as business and home. According to the MLS in Sarasota, there are over 15 homes for sale in the Towles Court, Laurel Park, Washington Park and Burns Court areas. Prices range from $225,000 to $1,495,000. Homes in this downtown Sarasota area are geared to a walking lifestyle.
In addition to professional businesses and specialty shops, restaurants are all within walking distance to most galleries.

Towles Court - Sarasota Artist Colony Neighborhood
One of my favorite neighborhoods in Sarasota is Towles Court. Sprinkled through this downtown area are colorful charming homes, restaurants, shops and professional business. My dentist's office is a quaint cottage surrounded by lush tropical foliage. Going to the dentist is a joy these days.

Many of the buildings in Towles Court were built in the 1920s and some have historical designations. This popular Sarasota neighborhood is home to many residents who live and work at home. Walking through Towles Court, you can see cottages, galleries, a selection of choice restaurants which have been cleverly renovated. Homesowners have added all the designer touches in kitchens, bathrooms and tropical walk-through gardens. This beautiful Sarasota artist community is a "must see" for location, location, location.

Artists in the area display their work and taking a morning stroll or an evening outing, residents experience a walking gallery of outdoor sculptures around Towles Court. Stop by the Canvas Cafe and take a break. It's on Links Avenue right off Ringling, in the heart of Towles Court.
Towles Court is located on the fringe of downtown Sarasota and close to Sarasota's beaches. Every third Friday of the month, artists in Towles Court exhibit their work at a Gallery Walk.
If you are searching for a home and an office in a Sarasota neighborhood, Towles Court could be worth a "look-see".
