Wih some homes built as far back as the 1940's, the Sanderling Club is one of the more special subdivisions in Sarasota. Located on directly on the beach on southern Siesta, the neighborhood also has lush tropical foliage and huge mature shade trees. It is the only single family home community with a 24 hour manned security gate on the Key. Spacious homes on large wooded lots prove that you can have both a parklike setting and the expansive white sands of world famous Siesta Key. Many homesites are on wide lagoons brimming with wildlife - birdwatching is a popular pastime, as crane, ibis and heron will wander across your yard. Homes located on the beach and with gulf views are multi million dollar properties, interior homes provide more affordable options, but all are special and unique. This is a quiet, private and elegant existence, not often found on Siesta Key.

Membership in the Sanderling Club has many benefits, including deeded gulf access and usage of the clubs cabanas. The community has deep water docks and tennis. Membership in the Club is mandatory, but when you own a piece of Sarasota real estate history, it is worth it!

I had the pleasure of showing a couple of properties in the Sanderling Club yesterday. What a fabulous beach front community on Siesta Key. It is one of the few gated beach front communities in Sarasota, Florida. It is located just south of the Stickney Point bridge on Siesta Key and just south of the Point of Rocks area. This is a very exclusive neighborhood with several beach front estates. Some of the estates have several acres on the water. As of late 2009 you can figure the starting price for getting a home on the beach is the neighborhood of around $2.5 million.

The beaches in the Sanderling Club are very private andy ou can walk for miles and miles without seeing very many people. The community offers beach cabana for those who do not live on the beach as well as tennis facilities and boat docks on the bay side of Siesta Key.
