When people think of real estate on Siesta Key, distance to the beach is always a concern. What many people do not realize is that there are other beaches other than world famous Siesta Key Beach. One of the most beautiful, and hidden, is Shell Beach, a great option in Sarasota homes!
Located on the north end of Siesta Key, Shell Beach is smaller than Siesta Key public beach by a long shot; however, its raw beauty and deserted feel make this an excellent option for those seeking the quieter residential options that the north Key has to offer. The beach is actually located on the channel between Siesta and Lido Keys, and offers stunning views of the water and south Lido Beach park across the channel.
The Shell beach area has everything from affordable older ranch style homes to brand new mansions on the beach. There are both original buildings and new construction developments; gated communities and winding, unassuming neighborhood streets. The north Key is much more lush than mid-Key, and has less of the tourist mentality. North Key also is located close to the north causeway, making it only a short drive to Southside Village or downtown, over a far less traveled route than the south bridge.
