About Tampa's Hyde Park West

Hyde Park West in Tampa was originally settled during the Florida "Boom" years of the 1920's. Many of the houses reflect the architectural style of that era. Hyde Park is just west of downtown Tampa and south of Kennedy Avenue. Many of the houses have been restored to their former glory. The streets are beautifully shaded with large oak trees.

At the heart of Hyde Park is Old Hyde Park Village, an upscale commercial development, accents the new vitality of Tampa's most historic neighborhood district. Old Hyde Park has shops, restaurants and movie theaters. Many of the dining establishments have outside eating areas for the patrons to enjoy Florida's beautiful weather. Old Hyde Park Village is located at Swann and Dakota Avenues. One of Tampa's oldest and most notable steak houses Bern's Steak House is just minutes from Hyde Park. With its unique decor and wonderful food, it is definately a place to visit.
