South Seminole Heights is an area of Tampa with many homes from the 1920's. Here you can find many affordable homes. It is only a few blocks from the beautiful Hillsborough River. Not to far from the neighborhood, you can find The Rock Church. It was built entirely from flint rocks taken from the Hillsborough River. It is an unusual feature in the South.

While I post a lot about Seminole Heights, it has a slant toward Old Seminole Heights. HOWEVER, there are 3 organized groups that make up the Seminole Heights area. The smallest is South Seminole Heights with about 1,300 homes between Florida Avenue and the Hillsborough River.

The South Seminole Heights Civic Association (SSHCA)

SSHCA will hold itʼs next General Membership Meeting this Tuesday, July 8^th, starting at 7:00PM at The Common Ground Church, located at the corner of W. Chelsea and Clearfield. We are excited to have as guest speaker, State Representative Michael Scionti, who will update us on legislative issues and the recent session in Tallahassee.

TPD Crime Watch Officers will also be present and will discuss recent promotions within their department.

Please be sure to attend this important and informative meeting, and be sure to bring along a neighbor. SSHCA meetings are open to everyone in the neighborhood.

Refreshments will be served and there will be an exciting door prize.
