Pictures of Tarpon Springs Florida
Downtown Tarpon Springs is known for its sponge docks. Some its initial visitors spotted tarpons jumping out of the waters so named the location Tarpon Springs.
The first Greek immigrants arrived to this city during the 1880s when they were hired to work as divers in the growing sponge-harvesting industry.
This industry helped build a Greek community that is now famous for sponges but also for some of the finest Greek restaurants and bakeries in the country.
What you will find at the Tarpon Springs Sponge Docks: Greek restaurants, bakeries, natural sponges, diving, tours, sightseeing cruises, shopping, jewelry, art galleries, etc.
Here are some pictures:
There are many Greek restaurants in Tarpon Springs to choose from:
There are many places to shop:
Sometimes Tarpon Springs hosts art festivals for those looking for some unique gifts or accessories for their home:
There is also artwork throughout the area making it a pleasure to walk and view:
One reason I like Tarpon Springs is that it is a synthesis of an old charming town with modern amenities which make it an ideal place to live, work, and play. Another key feature is its close proximity to the Pinellas Trail which is a 34-mile long trail that offers residents and visitors a unique opportunity to enjoy the outdoors that it close to home, close to work, and close to where *you* want to go whether in-line skating, biking, jogging, walking, or biking. It is a gem in the area.

Tarpon Springs Florida Sponge Docks
There are so many exciting things to do in Tarpon Springs, Florida. In many ways it reminds me of Hawai'i where I was born and raised due to its many cultural activities, sightseeing, sunshine year-round, and close proximity to the water. Did you know that Tarpon Springs, Florida has not one but *two* beaches??? Fred Howard Park and Sunset Beach.
Some customers have graciously asked me to please post some pictures of Tarpon Springs, Florida.
Lucky for them :) my husband and I attended the 2009 Tarpon Springs Sponge Docks Halloween Arts and Crafts Festival. One of the secrets to parking for free is first and foremost be mindful of the local residents but if you drive near the neighborhood surrounding the docks there are some areas that offer free street parking. My husband and I found a space that was respectful of the local residents and was free so when you visit downtown Tarpon Springs keep in mind that for those who like to walk and save a few dollars for praking and instead use it to buy some amazing treasures and/or amazing Greek food then that is an option.
I took some pictures:
There are stores along the main road, Dodecanese Boulevard:
Tarpon Springs hosts many arts festival. This one is very popular:
You can stop by any one of the numerous Greek restaurants where they serve authentic Greek food:
Or stop by at one of the many shops:
There is something for everyone in downtown Tarpon Springs:
If you are thinking of visiting Tarpon Springs, Florida or thinking about buying or selling a home in Tarpon Springs, Florida and would like additional information feel free to contact me via email :).

I guess we all know the answer to that one by now: Nothing! There's nothing "short" about a short sale--ask me, as a person of diminutive height, I can tell you that short sales are nothing about shortness! So, where from did this term derive, anyway?
Well, put simply, the real estate market is just like any other market--and selling short is market terminology. When you sell a stock short, you are actually purchasing under the assumption that the future price of the stock will fall. When you sell a property short, you are asking to purchase a property which has an existing lien currently worth more than the property in the current market.
A recent question on Trulia asked:
The answer? Read it here
