The Lake and Sumter Counties Home Builder's Association Parade of Homes kicks off this weekend, Saturday February 21 with great deals on new, never lived in homes for sale. The great incentives being offered by builders, coupled with the new $8000 tax credit for first time buyers makes it an excellent time to buy.
Also remember if you want to have a home built to order, and want to be able to collect on your $8000 credit, you need to start construction within a few months so you can be closed by the November 30, 2009 deadline.
Yu can get more information at the Lake/Sumter HBA website here.
Look forward to seeing you there, and Happy Parading!

The most recent sales statistics for Lake County, Florida, including the Tavares area, confirm what we all know, that buying a home is getting much more affordable. With home prices declining better deals are being had by those willing to go after them. October sales increased 5.5% over September and of the single family homes sold a whopping 69.8% were under $200,000! When you include homes up to $250,000 number jumps to 83.5% of all sales!
It goes to show there are great deals happening out there when for the first time in many years cash sales outnumbered any other type of financing! That tells you investors are picking up the steals and is usually a good sign to buy. But what if you don't have the cash to buy?
Contrary to media misinformation mortgage money is still readily available. Great, safe and secure government backed programs like FHA, VA and USDA Rural Development (RD) loans are helping many people achieve their dream of homeownership. Rates are at historic lows which will help keep your payments affordable and VA and RD loans require NO DOWN PAYMENT! Coupled with the $7,500 first time buyers tax credit you can own your home and get money to help you weather emergencies by buying before July 1st, 2009 (that's when the tax credit program is due to expire). For more information on the tax credit program or any of these loan programs please call, text or email me.

The Cellar at Tavares will be hosting the first inaugural Cellar Club tasting event Saturday
the 22nd of November, from 6 - 8 p.m.
I saw this in Inbox and wanted to pass it along to my friends in Lake County :)
Join us at 124 South Joanna St in Tavares for a great opportunity to try and select a special wine or two or a whole case for your Thanksgiving Day dinner.
We will be sampling select Pinot Noirs, Cabernet Sauv, Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Reisling and maybe another surprise or two. This will be a wine and cheese pairing so look forward to trying cheese that compliment the wine your sampling.
The tasting is $10 per person and we would love for you to just call 383-5451 or RSVP to stephanie@maggiesattic.us to confirm. The wines will be available to pick up the Wed
before the holiday should we run short on your choice.
Plan on staying after the event and enjoying the acoustical sounds of Gabriella and late nite fair from The World's Worst Deli, where the food is just too Darn Good. They have wonderful fare to enjoy with another glass of wine or maybe a brew.
We look forward to seeing you there and remember, RSVP - we will sell out so we want
to be sure your on our list.
Information provided by Jerome the wine Guy...
Be Sure to RSVP!
