Cook Out In Heritage Springs, Trinity, Florida.

I am taking Southern Caviar to a Memorial Day Cook Out here in Heritage Springs In Trinity Florida. Just wanted to share it with everyone.

It is great for a side relish or use it as an appetizer with pita chips or other chips such as Scoops! Thought someone else might be thinking of what to take. It goes by other names too such as Cowboy Caviar. You can adjust the heat with more or less of the jalapenos and you can add some red pepper flakes too. Make it your own and enjoy!

Southern Caviar
Ingredients
• 1 (15.5 ounce) can black beans, drained
• 1 (15.5 ounce) can black-eyed peas, drained
• 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes, drained
• 2 cups frozen corn kernels, thawed
• 1/2 medium onion, chopped
• 1/4 green bell pepper, finely chopped
• 1/2 cup chopped pickled jalapeno peppers
• 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
• 1 cup Italian salad dressing
• 3/4 cup chopped cilantro

Directions
1. Mix beans, peas, tomatoes, corn, onion, bell pepper, and jalapeno peppers in a large bowl. Season with garlic salt. Add dressing and cilantro; toss to coat. Refrigerate for 20 minutes or until ready to serve. I let it set up to 48 hours in the refrigerator. Makes a large bowl full.
