My husband and I built an insulated concrete form home on a lot that we purchased 12 years ago in Wesley Chapel, Florida. What used to be out in the sticks is now in the middle of everything.

With the current housing market, contractors are excited for the work and are competing for it. What that means for you is a terrific price with all the extras at a fraction of what we would have been spending at the height of the market.

Right now, you could buy a beautiful piece of land for a terrific price and be able to build the house of your dreams. You could also have a pool put in, again at a terrific price, because the pool contractors want your business and will compete for it.

I have a list of great contractors for each phase if you have any interest.

If you have any questions about looking for acreage or about the building process, please feel free to call me. I know of some great South Tampa builders also, of those that are thinking about moving to the MacDill Air Force Base area.

New Facebook Contest Offers a Great Prize

Highland Homes wants to know which Greens of Hidden Creek model home is more appealing to buyers. So the creative thinking Florida new home builder decided to sponsor a Facebook contest for the community.

The contest is simple. In order to submit an entry, visit the Highland Homes Facebook page and write which model home you think is most appealing to buyers. Highland Homes is encouraging contestants to give specific details about the features of the model they most enjoyed. Additionally, they want to know which features visitors considered not as great.

Five minutes of writing on the Highland Homes Facebook wall could win you a $100 gift card. Every entry is automatically entered to win.

Both of the models at the Greens were decorated by Stacey Antonakos-Perez, the Highland Homes Studio Manager.

The first model at the Greens is the Monroe model. Using bold colors and decorative touches, the model is transformed into a home which appeals to buyers. The home offers three bedrooms, two baths, a two car garage and a large master suite with a luxury bath and screened covered lanai.

The second model is a two story home with a master on the main. It offers large walk in closets, a double vanity and separate shower and soaking tub. Upstairs is the bonus room and three secondary bedrooms.

The Greens of Hidden Creek featuring Wesley Chapel new homes showcases the "green" home with the most innovative energy related products a home can have. The green built Florida new homes have double pane, low-E glass, insulated foam wall block, R-30 insulation, Whirlpool Energy Star appliances and more.
