Have You Filed For Your Palm Beach County Homestead Exemption?
We are sent a mailer or reminder from the Palm Beach County Property Appraiser’s office to take advantage for this property-tax savings benefit. Florida residents are granted a standard $25,000 exemption off of their property’s assessed value. In addition for those
they may qualify can take an additional $25,000.
Homeowners that bought in 2011, have to register no later than March 1, 2012.
There are a couple of ways to apply either in person or on-line @ pbcgov.com/PAPA. If you are applying in person the service centers are located in West Palm Beach, Palm Beach Gardens, Delray Beach, Royal Palm Beach, & Belle Glade.
Keep in mind the simple qualifications:
· Property must be the owner’s primary residence as of December 31, 1011
· Owner must be a permanent resident of Florida and cannot hold residency-benefits in any other county, district or state.
