It snowed and snowed!
And snowed some more.....

Ths Super Puppy - Samson the White Boxer went out to play -
while the other 4 in the pack huddled under blankets inside.
Spring had just begun to show her colors.
When Mother Nature laughed and officially dumped 8.1 inches of snow on Madison County, Georgia -
And yes I really was without power, water, or anything for 5 days :)
Thankfully, this was a rare occasion for all of us.....See you again in about 10 years Mr. Snowstorm!

We seem to get a lot of attention here - no wonder, Athens is a great place to live! The Wall Street Journal recently published an article about Athens being good for retirees. We see this all the time, people moving from Florida, Tennessee, California and many other areas. Many times they have researched the "best places to retire" lists and settle in Athens. See a list of articles recently published about Athens.

We may not be loaded with color like the North Georgia mountain area, yet...but it is finally beginning to feel like fall in Athens, GA! We went from spring like weather with highs in the mid 80's to waking up to 39 degree temperatures this morning and seeing much much needed rain over the past few days. The leaves are finally turning! Below is one of the prettiest I've seen yet this year (found by son & girlfriend a couple of days ago in the front yard).
This leaf is so pretty, it got to come inside for some more pictures!
In the strange juxaposition of things that happen with weather like ours in Athens, one of my rose bushes has bloomed 3 times this year! Below is what will surely be the last bloom of the season, shot during the pouring down rain a couple of nights ago.
Here's hoping for a fabulous fall!
