Purchasing a home in Grant ParkGrant park Atlanta homes

When I work with first-time home buyers or clients relocating to "intown' Atlanta, it seems that the first neighborhood they want to see is Grant Park.

WHY? As one of Atlanta's oldest neighborhoods, Grant Park is known for its history, its family-like environment and simple living attitude. Grant Park has its own neighborhood associations, which strives to, promote and strengthen the neighborhood... they also hold several fantastic annual events throughout the year. Of course, there is the beautiful Grant Park, Zoo Atlanta and some absolutely STUNNING Victorian-era homes.

SO WHY DO ONLY A FRACTION OF MY CLIENTS PURCHASE A HOME IN GRANT PARK? I've given this quite a bit of thought and would narrow it down to three key reasons:

1) Lot size - buyers are always suprised at the smaller yards (or sometimes no back yard at all)

2) Parking - many of the homes don't have a driveway or you have park in the alley behind the home

3) Price / condition of homes - In order to get a semi-updated 3 bedroom home in the 30312 zip code, you need to be prepared to spend no less than $325,000. ** There are exceptions, of course!

For those of you who are considering purchasing a home in Grant Park, please keep this in mind.

I do think that this is a FANTASTIC place to live and Grant Park real estate is one of the most desirable neighborhoods in terms of investment and livability in the Atlanta area.... and the home values are still STRONG even in a crazy market! Just begin your search with your eyes open... I don't want anyone to be disappointed!
