About Atlanta's Virginia Highlands

I just had an encounter with an accessory hoarder!

Karen Dembsky, Atlanta Home Staging : Home Stager in Peachtree City, GA

I just had an encounter with an accessory hoarder!

Yes, seriously. This was the biggest accessory hoarder I have ever staged!

Now you may think I am speaking of a home owner I helped de-clutter to get ready to put their home on the market; but I am not.

This “accessory hoarder” was a cute little VACANT bungalow home in the sought after Virginia Highlands area of Atlanta in desperate need of Peachtree Home Staging.

Now, you may ask, “How can a vacant home be an accessory hoarder?” Well, it was like having vacant room -- inside vacant rooms! And to stage it right, it hoarded accessories like you wouldn’t believe!

There were vacant built-ins everywhere, just screaming for accessories to hoard!

There was the living room hoarder --

There was the dining room hoarder --

There was the kitchen hoarder --

And, there were TWO hallway hoarders --

Truth be known, I too, can be an accessory hoarder. But, as you can see, I do share and lend a helping hand to those poor vacant spaces needing my accessories. :-)

Finding the Right Atlanta Apartment (Part 2)

Once you know which amenities you’re willing to pay for, start looking in your ideal area. Where do you spend most of your time? Is being close to work or school most important or would you rather be close to where you spend your free time? If you can find a place for the right price in this area, then sign the lease! But most people say, “I want to live in Virginia-Highlands” or Midtown or Buckhead, and these neighborhoods have the highest prices and occupancy rates. Do you want to be in the middle of all the action? If so, you may want to team up with a couple friends to rent a house. If you find the right place, you can all save money while having plenty of space and privacy. Here’s some homes for rent right now in Virginia-Highlands, Midtown, Ansley Park/Morningside, Buckhead, Inman Park, or search yourself.

Renting a house isn’t the right choice for everybody, so here are some things to consider:

Do you prefer having your own space to entertain guests or host parties?

Some apartments have community areas that include grills or rooms with a wet bar/catering set-up, but you have to follow their rules, which can include restrictions on reserving the space, playing music, and time limitations.

Do you have a dog and want a fenced backyard?

Having a dog in an apartment can mean spending more time walking it outside or going to a dog park to let it get energy out. A house often gives your pet more room inside and out, which can save you time and makes your pet happier.

Do you get annoyed with parking garages, gates and elevators?

Many people get fed up with the time it can take to get in and out of apartment complexes. Renting a house lets your pull into the driveway and go right inside.

Renting a house can be a good transition into owning a house. It can be more difficult to find the right rental house for you, however. You also want somebody on your side to review the lease and negotiate the best price possible. So, if you are considering renting a house in Atlanta, give me a call today to get free professional advice about renting in Atlanta.
