Beautiful Lake Nottely lies nestled amongst the mountains and valleys of the Chattahoochee National Forest northwest of Blairsville, Georgia. This deep water lake covers over 4100 acres when at full pool with almost 110 miles of shoreline. There are numerous communities on and around the lake, three full service marinas and several RV parks/campgrounds. But don’t let the pristine beauty of this lake fool you. This is actually a man-made reservoir also known as the Nottely Reservoir. Taking a little over a year to complete, Nottely Dam, at 184 feet tall was completed in 1942 by the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA). In addition to all the outdoor recreational opportunities this man-made wonder offers, it actually serves other purposes as well. The TVA manages it for both flood control and power generation.

As you can see, there were four new lakefront listings introduced to the market during the reporting period. For the same period in 2010, there were only two new properties listed. While there were five sales in 2011, there were only 3 for the same period in 2010.

We strongly believe that consumer confidence is playing a big part in these numbers. Markets which were hit hard by the bursting of the real estate bubble are starting to see some rebounding.
