While everyone else was watching football on Sunday afternoon, my husband and and I decided we needed some exercise and to get outdoors. It is still beautiful and temperature in the 60's and 70's each day even this close to Thanksgiving in our subtropical climate of south Georgia.
We choose bike riding on the nature trails and bike paths on Jekyll Island. It was a beautiful trip over the Sidney Lanier Bridge. The views from the bridge alone are worth the trip over it to the Jekyll Island causeway.
Along the nature trails, we got up close and personal with

this racoon in the marsh grass

this egret who took flight

And then this beautiful doe and her fawn.

Can't you just see the resemblance in the markings and colorings of this mother and child? These are white tailed deer that are very common in south Georgia.
These animals are in a wildlife area and will let you get watch them....if you look closely, I wonder if they are people watching......
What a great way to spend a late Sunday afternoon in November........if you want to learn more about Brunswick and the Golden Isles of Georgia, visit The Golden Isles Blog or call 1-877-221-0088 toll free for a newcomer's package.

Twenty years ago I lived where traffic was a major consideration in when I made my appointments both professional and personal. Now, I am either too old or have been back in south Georgia too long to spend any precious time sitting in traffic. While driving home today, I took some photos (some out of the sunroof of my Hummer while driving) and wanted to share my commute - words cannot describe......

Each day when leaving my home, I can choose the route I take to my office or to one of the many subdivisions which I am either selling in or preparing for sale. I elect to take Highway 17 which crosses many rivers and tributaries along the east coast of Georgia. The photo above is on the bridge at the Glynn County line where the Two Way Fish Camp Marina is located.
This was a little closer view of the boats at the Two Way Fish Camp Marina on the Altamaha River.
At the foot of the bridge on the other side in McIntosh County, there is the Champney River Landing where you can (for free) launch your boats and jet skis. This is where my husband Conrad and I launch to access LIttle Saint Simons, Sapelo and Saint Simons Islands.
Thanks for taking this ride home with me today.......and be glad you were not actually riding in my vehicle as I had the camera out of the sunroof on top of that bridge while driving.....
