Turnbury Gates Townhomes in Chamblee GA
While I focus primarily on the Midtown Atlanta real estate market, I always keep my eyes open on surrounding areas of Midtown Atlanta. Why? Well, first of all, that's what a real estate broker does. Or should do. Plus, I often deal with sellers of a Midtown Atlanta condominium who are looking to move for more space, or perhaps start a family and be looking for certain schools, or neighborhoods. So, I like to know what's out there, and if I see a great product, I like to know about it, and let you know about it too.
Turnbury Gates Townhomes in Chamblee are just such a place. First off, they are in Chamblee. An up, and coming (even with the economy) suburb of Atlanta, it's conveniently located inside of I-285 (or ITP -Inside The Perimeter) and only 4 miles North of Buckhead. Once a fairly industrial area (hence the major throughfare through Chamblee is called Peachtree Industrial Blvd) it has since seen redevelopment while retaining it's historic town area near the railroad tracks. This area is home to the Chamblee Antique Row.....a great place to shop for collectibles. Chamblee is also home to the second busiest airport after Hartsfield Jackson, Dekalb-Peachtree Airport. But not close enough to Turnbury Gates to be of any concern.
Turnbury Gates is located just off of Peachtree Industrial Blvd on Johnson Ferry Road. ( A Publix Market is just up the road, and Lowe's Home Improvement is right next door to the community. This community has 88 homes on the site plan, but currently only 2 buildings have been built. The Amenity Area, including pool and club house are completed. This is an important factor in communities that may have had their developer go under and not finish them. Turnbury Gates was originally started by another builder, but is now under the direction of Home South Communities.This picture shows the stie plan, and the arrows indicate the current buildings that have been built, as well as the Amenity area, highlighted in yellow.
These stylish townhomes feature the Azalea plan with 2 bedrooms and 2.5 Baths at approx. 1,640 sq ft and a tandem 2-car garage. A second floorplan, The Dogwood is a 3 bedroom 3.5 bath model with approx 2,182 sq. ft and a side-by-side 2 car garage. Finishes include hardwood flooring, granite countertops and stainless appliances and options for some flex-space, depending on the floor plan.
Priced from $249,900 to $309,900, these homes represent some great values, in a great location with some excellent schools. The community is served by Montgomery Elementary, Chambee Middle and Chamblee High School.
