About Greene County, GA

This week the Lake Country Board of Realtors pitched in to assist Habitat for Humanity of Greene County to construct two new homes just east of Greensboro, GA. Over the course of three days during the week of April 20th, various members from numerous realty and mortgage companies banded to together to support a worthy cause. Naming the effort Lend A Hand, the board plans to make this an annual effort. The final work day planned as a board initative is Saturday, April 25th. However, I am certain that many of us will continue to pitch in to support these efforts in our community. Start Masters Week with a Bang at Richland Creek Restaurant. On April 6th from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Mitch Cosentino with Cosentino Winery will be at Richland Creek to showcase eight of his wines. Having the owner/wine maker from one of Napa Valley's great wineries in our town will be a great treat for everyone. The cost is only $15 per person and will include some hors d'oeuvres to accompany the wines. (706) 454-1600.

Good Morning. Its finally April and we are appropriately kicking it off with showers all day. Once again activity is beginning to pickup again here in Georgia's Lake & Golf Country. I again have updates to one of the gated golf communities in the area, Harbor Club. The, Tom Weiskopf/Jay Morrish, golf course is easy one of the best values on the lake for the golf you get at the price you get it for. Below is a quick run down of the 2009 Memberships.

It is a bit of a rainy day here is Georgia Lake Country but overall spring is in the air. Prices have come down over the winter and buyers are again beginning to think about lake property. There are some great deals to be found on both Lake Oconee & Lake Sinclair. Today, however, I am going to point out some of the incentives for the Lake & Golf communities, Reynolds Plantation.

For Reynolds company homesite purchases:

One can purchase a homesite & membership for 5% down and no payments for 24 months.

• Reynolds will pay the interest for the homesite purchase for the first 24 months based on 35 month interest only, 95% LTV @ 6.5%.
• The company will do the same as above for the membership.
• A club credit will be issued when purchased for:
  • Lake - $15,000
  • Access - $12,000
  • Golf - $12,500
  • Plantation - $5,000
• The company will pay any POA or LCA fees for the first 24 months after purchase.
• Reynolds will pay 2009 & 2010's property tax bills.

Get ready for Spring by joining the Lake Oconee Area Builders Association for its annual Home and Garden Show. This event will be held March 20-21 at the Greene County Public Service Campus and will run from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, and from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. (Directions)
