I would like to thank Marie Westerman for inviting me to join active rain. I have never blogged before and this is really stepping outside of my comfort zone. I am computer literate, but however have not kept up with technological advances. I am very excited to be in an online community. I enjoy reading the blogs and look forward to learning my way around the site. What ever help anyone can offer me to get me off to a smooth start would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Real Estate's 25 Most Influential Thought Leaders
Magazine lists of most influential people usually focus on the movers and shakers of the moment-individuals or companies that have done something high-profile in the last year or so and have gotten plenty of attention.
In compiling our 2006 list of real estate leaders, we've taken a longer view. Our influencers aren't just those with the latest gizmo or hot idea; they're also thought leaders who are reshaping how the real estate industry functions-today and probably tomorrow. Not all are veterans-some are relatively new to the industry. Yet each has had a profound impact on the present and future of real estate.
To choose our 25 most influential, we solicited nominations through our Web site and directly from select brokers, association executives, and industry watchers. We whittled down the nominees to the group you see here.
Of course, like any good ecosystem, the world of real estate is affected both by what happens inside it and by the forces acting upon it from outside. That's why we've also compiled a second list of influencers who work outside the real estate industry-in technology, government, finance, communications-but who have nonetheless had a major impact on the business, whether for good, bad, or somewhere in between.
We know that these lists leave out many who've had a significant impact; that's the nature of such lists. So write and tell us who you think we've missed. We'll publish some of your choices in future issues of the magazine. For now, here's who the editors of REALTOR® Magazine think have left a unique imprint on our industry.
Article published in "REALTOR Magazine" December 2006 - (see below for full section on Steve Morris.)

With all the negative financial news lately do you feel like the sky is falling?
How much of the national, state or even local situation can you personally change? Very little, right? We can only keep our positive attitude & realize everybody lives in a house & most would like to move if you can help make it happen. How will YOU help them get happily moved?
While other parts of the country are having tremendous difficulties we need to realize how fortunate we are to live & work in the CSRA Georgia.
Think about the "typical" CSRA employee.
Are they affected by these blips in the economy?
They work at seven major Hospitals & the Medical College of Georgia, The Savannah River Site, Defense Dept- Ft. Gordon, Child and Adult education plus the plants we have here make toilet paper & Tide soap! How many of these employers will cut back on their work force when things slow down? We still get sick, need a nuclear deterrent, need a military defense, must educate our curtain climbers, need toilet paper & we wash clothes.

Also realize that Ft. Gordon is still gaining numbers from BRAC, NSA & other National Security efforts.
How about Plant Vogtle? It will take 5-8 years and thousands of workers to complete the two new units. Not only will new jobs be created but the pay & benefits will be excellent. The painter/carpenter/plumber working in Augusta today for $8-12 an hour will have an opportunity to work there at a higher rate & more hours. They will be able to afford to move up. Plus ALL the new, incoming employees that go through Southern Co./ Ga. Power. I understand there will be over a projected 300 engineers alone. Plus the trades employees will need housing.
The first two units took about eight years to complete & I recall there were over 10,000 workers, some 3-4,000 at any one time.
When units I & II were built the entire market & especially South Augusta Georgia & Martinez Georgia experienced tremendous growth.
So as the rest of the country wonders about the future of the Real Estate market, we here in Augusta Georgia, CSRA can be fairly comfortable with the future of our Market.
