Video Tutorial #3: Downloading your video onto the computer (Gulp!)

Tara Jones- Atlanta, GA : Real Estate Media in Dacula, GA

Click here to watch this week's episode!

Most of us fell victim to the ways of the digital camera when it first came out.  We learned how to use all the new bells and whistles and shot amazing pictures.  The problem was (and for some remains) we leave the pictures on our camera!  Don't let this happen to you with the FlipTM.  It's relatively easy to download your video on either a PC or a MAC.  Here's how.

Whether you're a PC or a MAC user you first have to "flip" out the USB plug from the FlipTM camera.  Simply plug it into your laptop (or hardrive) and wait for the icon to pop up on your screen.  Once it does click on it and wait for it to load the software (this may take a minute or two depending on how fast your computer is)  Once it is loaded, your videos should appear.

The first thing you want to do is save your videos.  Don't skip this step or won't be able to edit later.  Hit the "save videos" green button and all of your video clips will appear.  You can randomly select which ones you want to save or you can hit "select all". If you have several videos the numbers at the bottom of the screen will help you scroll through the pages of video clips.  You will have three options to save...to your computer, to disc or to e-mail.  To do all three you have to do them separately.  (We'll get into the specifics of all of those in a later episode)   To save to your computer, simply select the videos you want (just by clicking on them individually or by hitting "select all") and then hit the green save button in the upper right hand side of the screen under save to computer.

Here's a great tip for naming your videos if you plan on editing later.  Don't take the name the computer gives you because it will likely be a number and letter code that makes no sense to you as a user.  Instead, change the name of the video to exactly what you shot.  For example, "living room wide shot"..."living room tight shot".  This will make editing your video MUCH simpler in the long run.

Movie Theatre Going Up in Hamilton Mill - Dacula GA

Joshua Jarvis: Real Estate Agent in Duluth, GA

For those who live in the Hamilton Mill area, there has always been a curiosity as to what would go up in between the Home Depot and the Kohl's. With construction underway on several shopping areas, one project has piqued some interest.

Great Escape Theatres of New Albany, IND will open an ALL digital theatre in md to late May. For an area with over 45,000 family living in a 5 mile radius, this is a great need! The 52,000 Square foot facilility is being built next to Home Depot and will feature stadium seating with 18 to 24 inch risers, digital projection and 3D technology. Currently, the closest theatre is in the Mall of Georgia.

In an article in The Paper, Ragains the COO said, "The North side of Atlanta is very attractive because of all the growth."

He said that studies have shown that there is room for a successful theatre business in Dacula, GA.

Hamilton Mill Sellers Get "Real" about Real Estate Values

2008 is starting off with an upbeat vibe in the Hamilton Mill market. Lots of homeowners are considering a move this year, and they are being very realistic about pricing -- accepting the reality of the 5% to 15% decline in values.

Many -- if not most -- of these residents are "moving up" locally into a bigger house, etc. They realize that now is the absolute best time in the last 10 years to buy real estate. The higher the price range -- the better the deals.

The great news is: You can make a ton of money buying in this market!

Here's some examples:

Homes in the $300k to $400k range are experiencing $15k to $20k declines from their "perfect day" pricing.

By contrast, a $600k to $700k home might realize a $50k to $80k discount in today's market.
