One of my favorite places to get a two topping ten inch pizza with two can drinks for $8.99 is Best Pizza on Camp Creek Parkway in East Point. The pizza is a simple traditional style crust with a smather of tomato sauce, mozzarello cheese and the toppings of your choice. I tend to pick a meat and a vegetable - onions and pepperoni or sausage and green peppers - for my toppings. After I place my order, the pizza is ready for pick up in about fifteen minutes.

I like to tease the owners by asking them what makes them think they have the best pizza in East Point. They always reply, 'that's just the name we gave the place.' In their modesty they down play the goodness of the pizza and other items on the menu. For instance try their pizza fries. Big steak house fries, layered with the very delicious pizza sauce and topped with the mozzarello cheese. Then they baked a few minutes to melt the cheese and finish it off for delivery.

If you're in East Point and not in the mood for pizza or pizza fries, there are a variety of hot and cold sub sandwiches available. And they even serve a fried chicken dinner. I have never ventured to the fried chicken, but one day I will have to try it.

Another wonderful place to eat in downtown East Point is the Thumbs Up Diner. Thumbs Up Diner features breakfast and lunch, Monday through Friday, starting at 7AM in the morning and stopping at 3PM in the afternoon. Saturday and Sunday start at 8AM and continue to through 3PM.

For breakfast I recommend the pecan waffle with warm maple syrup. Or get fired up with a bowl grits and a plate of biscuits and mushroom and sausage gravy. And there are the plate size pancakes - add some applewood smoked bacon to go along with them. Wash it down with glass of orange juice or cup of coffee.
