Today I had the most wonderful plate of homestyle potatoes and a gyro wrap from Grecian Gyro in Hapeville. Their motto is 'Once a Week Go Greek With Grecian Gyro' and they have served up great greek food to residents of Hapeville and the surrounding area for twenty nine years. Talk about weathering the changes in the economy!!! The hostess/cashier is very excited about celebrating 30 years in 2012 this time next year. 
The cook and I struck up a conversation, and I talked about being in real estate and working the local market. It turns out that he used to work in property management for Fannie Mae homes doing trashouts and inspections. We are never to far from our industry when we meet peopel. I think he does much better on the grill at Grecian Gyro.
Grecian Gyro is located at the corner of Virginia Avenue and the turn towards dowtown Hapeville. The big sign that sits out front, the white building with blue trim and outdoor deck for seating make the location impossible to miss. There are two other Grecian Gyro locations in metro Atanta - one in Tucker Georgia and one in Forest Park Georgia.
Prices at Grecian Gyro range from $4.99 for a gyro wrap to $11.00 for a platter with salad, potatoes, meat and grilled pita bread. I didn't get to try the spinach kopita or the baklava, but I know I will enjoy another trip to Grecian Gyro again in the near future.
B J's Home Cooking in Hapeville is a good home cooked food with a simple approach to the menu and the pricing. A full home cooked style breakfast with drink includes eggs, bacon or sausage, home fries, a biscuit and coffee all for about $4. Breakfast offerings also include grits, chicken sausage, turkey bacon, and a variety of juice drinks.
