About a week ago I had the pleasure of seeing a show at the newly refurbished Strand theater located directly on Marietta Square. What an absolute treat! Beautiful detail to the walls and ceilings. Comfy chairs. No matter your seat, the feeling is intimate. Even if you aren't a "theater" person, give it a try! You won't be disappointed!

Marietta Ga Foreclosures - Common Myth Debunked

When you mention a foreclosure home as an option to a Buyer, you will sometimes get an unusual expression in return. Most people have a common misconception regarding Marietta GA foreclosure homes. They need alot of renovation or repair. I am in foreclosures every day and yes, some of the properties are disasters and are challenging to even the most astute renovator, but, that is not currently the norm. A good majority of the properties are move in ready with no real repairs needed. If negotiated out properly, these homes can be a great deal for everyone involved. In addition, these can be closed quickly, where the newly popular short sale tests your patience daily.

As we head into September, The Earl Strand Theatre on Marietta Square continues to provide quality entertainment. On Friday, September 10th, Blair Crimmins and the Hookers will take the stage at 8 PM. Based in the historic Cabbagetown section of Atlanta, their music pulls on the addictive styles of New Orleans jazz. Blair Crimmins' sound is a unique blend of gritty ragtime and ‘20s and ‘30s swing with clever lyrics and contemporary style. The band has eclectic orchestrations featuring any combination of saxophones, trumpet, trombone, clarinet, accordion, banjo, drum kit and auxiliary percussion. Jeffrey Butzer opens with his piano-driven songs that connect French folk tunes with Danny Elfman compositions. All ages are welcome. Tickets are a very reasonable $12 and are on sale now. I have been frequenting a fairly new local restaurant in West Cobb called West Cobb Diner. This is a much needed addition to our dining choices! Great home cooking and wonderful service is what this new restaurant offers. What more could you ask for. Busy for lunch but worth the wait. Sunday brunch and nightly dinner too! This restaurant is locally owned and operated. Supporting our local businesses is the root to our economic recovery! Whether you live in West Cobb or anywhere else, support your local businesses!
