Congratulations to the 2011 incoming college and university freshmen class! Your future is looking spectacular!

My own grandson, Zovon, just started his college career at one of my favorite places in the south metro Atlanta community – Clayton State University.

Just fifteen miles southeast of downtown Atlanta, nestled in the heart of Morrow, Georgia lay the beautifully landscaped acres of the Clayton State University main campus. Clayton State is an outstanding metropolitan university and a unit of the University System of Georgia, offering bachelor and master degree programs, as well as continuing education and certificate opportunities, and even weekend classes for ambitious and talented middle and high school students.

In fact, Zovon himself is not stranger to his new campus, having spent many hours there as a participant in the Spivey Hall Youth choir program.

September 3-5 Labor Day Holiday Break (no classes)

September 6 Faculty Development Day (no classes)

September 9 Midterm Session I – last day to withdraw and receive a W grade

September 15 Application deadline for Spring 2012 graduation

September 16 Graduate Application Deadline for Fall 2011 Graduation

September 19-24 Course/instructor evaluations for Session I

September 20-October 4 Midterm grade submission period for full semester courses
