In Arbor Springs Plantation you will love the timeless style and quality of the custom brick homes. Many of the custom builders have available homes featuring brick exteriors in their design. The builders recognize that each home can have a distinct look and personality because brick offers a variety of colors, textures, shapes and patterns. You will find the use of patterns on fireplace chimneys and water tables, and the use of shapes around door openings and window arches. The positive qualities of using brick as an exterior building material offers the benefit of durability, low maintenance, and energy efficiency. Many Arbor Springs Plantation builders extend their use of brick by using it as pavers on driveways and decorative walls to enhance their landscape plan. If you love the richness of clay brick and pair this with the large wooded estate lots in Arbor Springs Plantation, you can experience this exceptional value.

Just south of downtown Newnan is the cities' newest park! Having just opened to the public in the Spring of 2008, Greenville Street Par is fast becoming one of Newnan's most popular urban destinations.
And no wonder. It's an easy walk from the square, or there is plenty of parking along Greenville Street. The park is designed to accommodate strollers and wheelchairs.
The highlight of the park is the open air amphitheatre that doubles as a grassy play surface. There is a small fountain that uses only recycled water in the middle of a large outdoor eating area with plenty of tables and beautiful landscaping.
There are quiet walkways that feature both plantings and sculptures, and the park adjoins First Avenue Park to the West if you would like to take a longer jaunt.
One of the many restaurants in the downtown area will gladly pack your meal to go so you can take advantage of the facilities at the park. It will make your lunch break more interesting and relaxing in a setting that's a pleasant getaway from crowded dining rooms.
The park can be booked in advance for special events. For information on booking events you can contact the City of Newnan Community Development Department at 770-253-2682

The Male Academy Museum is a hidden treasure in Newnan Georgia. The unusual name stems from the building's origins.
The building away used as Newnan's first private school for boys, and was opened in 1883. The building was sold and converted to a residence in 1888.
The Newnan-Coweta Historical Society now maintains its permanent exhibits in the structure. These include the Smith Collection of decorative arts and antique furnishings and a vintage classroom. There are also special exhibits which change frequently. A private tour can be arranged, but walk-ins are welcome. Admission is a mere two dollars.
The building is adjacent to Temple Avenue Park, a passive neighborhood park with beautiful landscaping and seasonal blooming flowers of all kinds! It's a perfect place for a pleasant stroll after a visit to the museum.
The museum is located at 30 Temple Avenue, Newnan Georgia at the comer of College Street and Temple Avenue. Ample parking is available. Hours: Tues- Thurs.: 10 am - noon and 1 pm - 3 pm Sat. and Sun. 2 pin - 5 pm. Phone: 404-251-0207.

Coweta County Georgia is still dotted with farms and ranches of all sizes. And although the dirt and gravel roads in the outlying areas are slowly giving way to the encroachment of development, there are still pockets of the past preserving the counties agrarian roots.
For those of us that are not farmers, it is a pleasant experience to get out and enjoy the simple beauty of the animals grazing, or large field of crops ripening for market, or even vast tracts of timber slowly maturing over the years.
It's hard to believe that less than a ten minute drive from the hustle and bustle of downtown Newnan, that one can escape to the pastoral elegance of rural America. It's a living testimonial to our heritage, and it serves as a straightforward reminder that there is hidden treasure to be discovered around the bend of a country road!
