The James E. McGuffey Nature Center is located in the Coweta County Fairgrounds complex, south of Newnan. The Nature Center offers both educational and recreation opportunities for visitors.
There are several instructional areas. The main building offers a large coved outdoor classroom, and an outside fire pit learning area. There are also mini amphitheatres along the trails in the wooded areas where instructors can offer information about local ecosystems.
Visitors may also enjoy hiking any one or all the numerous trails that travel through the diverse forest, bog and lake locations. There is even a paved nature trail for those with disabilities.
There is also a demonstration vegetable garden, and numerous floral planting that enhance the overall look of the site.
There is ample free parking, modern restroom facilities, and picnic tables are available. The Nature Center is generally uncrowded, and is a good place to get away from the hustle and bustle of Downtown Newnan.

There are shopping centers and then there are shopping experiences. Newnan's Ashley Park is an excellent example of combining commerce with a visual explosion of floral color and greenery.
There is something here for everyone, from the 14 Theater multiplex Regal Georgian to the giant margaritas at La Parilla. Add to that the amazing landscaping with every sort of seasonal blooming flora that are replaced throughout the year to ensure continuous color.
You can enjoy a quick and delicious burger at Five Guys before an afternoon of upscale shopping at Dillards or an ice cream treat at the Cold Stone Creamery. There are also boutique shops, apparel stores and a Barnes and Nobles bookstore. Some of the latest tenants to open their doors are Aeropostale and Mama Lucias' Italian Restaurant.
If you are considering a move, be sure to place Newnan Georgia or Coweta County on your list of possibilities. Come and visit Newnan soon, I can assure you that you will not be disappointed!
