Starlight Hills Neighborhood, Sandy Springs GA - 2010

Starlight Hills Neighborhood, City of Sandy Springs, GA Just outside the City of Atlanta city limit off Peachtree Dunwoody Rd is the charming Starlight Hills Neighborhood. Built in 1959, Starlight was considered North Atlanta (I mean really North Atlanta) and the approximately 100 homes sold for $26,000 at that time when they were first built.

All Starlight Hills, Sandy Springs, GA homes sit on large 1/2 acre to acre lots in mostly ranch style homes, some split levels and some two story homes. All the homes are brick with fabulous hardwoods, pine trees, gorgeous azaleas and beautiful greenery. There are a few original homeowners, but many homes have been sold multiple times in the 50+ years since the neighborhood was started.

The Starlight Hills neighborhood varies with a few new builds, extensive remodels and almost original homes. Today's home prices vary from the mid $300's to $500's, depending on total number of bedrooms, condition and location. Some of the best features of Starlight, besides it's price point, is the fact that there is only one way in and out of the neighborhood, so no cut through streets. Sidewalks lead to the YMCA Windsor Parkway Soccer and Lacrosse Fields, as well as north and south of Peachtree Dunwoody.

The very best feature of Starlight is it's overall central location in Atlanta, while being the first neighborhood in the City of Sandy Springs with lower home property taxes within Fulton County! The city of Sandy Springs has mutliple sidewalk building projects underway on Peachtree Dunwoody Rd. Heck, you might even be able to ride your bike to work at the three wonderful hospitals just north at Pill Hill (intersection of Peachtree Dunwoody & Johnson's Ferry Rd - with St. Joseph's Hospital, Northside Hospital and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite.)

The neighborhood is served by the well recognized schoolsStarlight Hills Azalea's and Bench, City of Sandy Springs, GA of Riverwood Charter High School (#1 rated school in Fulton County, $2 in state of GA, #128 in all of USA for High Schools, by Newsweek Magazine with a highly rated International Baccalaureate Program), Ridgeview Charter Middle School and High Point Elementary.

The Starlight neighborhood boasts friendly folks with walkers, joggers, strollers, pets and more on a daily basis. Located minutes from Lenox, Phipps Plaza, Pill Hill Hospitals, as well as GA - 400, I-285 (just 2 miles north), it is a fabulous central location for almost everywhere you want to go.

Looking for one of Atlanta's best public high schools inside the perimeter living and affordable price points, Starlight Hills is one of the few neighborhoods to fit the bill.
