A foreclosure on your record could affect your employment. If your job requires security clearance (i.e. security officer, policeman, CIA ) and a foreclosure is on your record it could be grounds for immediate termination or reassignment. Employers have the right and are regularly checking the credit of all employees that are in sensitive positions. A short-sale is not shown on your credit report and is not a threat to your employment. The same applies for your consideration for future employment. There is short-sale help for distressed homeowners in Stone Mountain, GA.
With all foreclosures, except in states where there is no deficiency judgment, the bank has the right to pursue a deficiency judgment which means that you may still owe the bank money after the foreclosure. The amount will depend on what the house sells for in the REO market. In a short-sale, however, it is possible to get the deficiency judgment is waived as long as the house sells at market value. Contact your local accountant for more details on this.
There is short-sale help for distressed homeowners. A Short-Sale is a viable option for distressed property owners in Stone Mountain, GA. Give me a call today.

Are you behind on your mortgage payments? Are you thinking of making a fresh start? Whatever you do, don't walk away from your property and just let the bank have the house. Consider a short-sale as this would be less damaging to your credit and you would be able to buy again in a few short years. Some banks are even offering incentives to homeowners if they will do a short-sale as opposed to a foreclosure. Kind of odd that for a "Wayback" post I would talk about an upcoming car show... But the show happens around the first Saturday in May each year... and so THIS Saturday is the day.
Smokerise Baptist Church is having their 11th Annual Smokerise Car Show on Saturday from 9am until 3pm. Registration runs from 9am until Noon... so there might be a few cars that don't show up until late. Judging runs from Noon until 3pm.
And check out this link for pictures from last year's show. There were some pretty cool rides on hand... and that was with showers threatening all day.
BTW, the other car show mentioned in that post, Mud4Blood, will be on May 28th. That one promises to rock, too...

This is the new thing. Each Friday, I will feature a photo. Many will be local. Some may be real estate related. Others will be definately not local, and might not be related to real estate. Cars, people, vacation, homes, garages, tools... fun times. Just about anything might make the cut.
Since Flashback Friday and Wayback Wednesday have been highlighting posts from 1 and 2 years ago, I have covered posts for the last several years. Wayback Wednesday will continue, and will feature posts from either one or two years ago that week.
Ropes courses are nothing new. And this one is pretty cool. There are three levels. The lowest level is around 12'-15' off the ground. Each of the next two levels is about 12' higher. It might not seem that way when you are standing on the ground, but it is pretty high by the time you get up to the third level.
And those seemingly simple obstacles are much more difficult when you are standing precariously on a rope 30' in the air.
While we were getting our Annual Passes, we could see the Sky Hike out of the window of the Pass photo booth. I have to admit that I was laughing pretty hard at some of the people that were up on the course. A few minutes later, I am sure that there were folks in the same place laughing at me.
Sky Hike is included in the Mountain Membership, or the One Day Adventure Pass. There is also an option for getting JUST the Sky Hike. I recommend getting a Mountain Membership if you live in the area. I also recommend getting an Annual Parking Pass ($20) for at least one of your family vehicles, as there are numerous free events for the family at the park... and the $35/year is WAY better than paying $10 to park there for the day... it's just $20 for the annual parking pass if you are a Mountain Member, too.
And while you are there, you might as well ride a Duck...
If you follow me on Foursquare, you'll know when I am at the park for a walk around the mountain (nice 5 mile hike).
Here is the website for Stone Mountain Park.

Home Staging for an Atlanta Investor - As a home stager in Atlanta, where all the testimonials on my site are in fact mine (smile), I've thoroughly enjoyed working with the Atlanta investors. While the process can be a little different, they are a joy to stage.
This is an example of a home we staged last week.
Here's what the room looks like when the furniture has been delivered. I typically have it placed in the "general" area. However, I've been known to make multiple changes to the layout. As any professional home stager will tell you, the furniture, accessories, layout, etc... are NOT about the homeowner. Instead, it's about the buyer.

Here's the end result:

This Atlanta investor made some wonderful renovations to the kitchen as you can see below. My job as an Atlanta Home Stager is to help the buyer emotionally connect to the home.
By design, I don't overload the home with accessories. Instead, I need to compliment the style of the home and use tasteful items that help make it as appealing as possible.

This executive community, like a lot of other areas throughout the country, has suffered some throughout the current recession. In this neighborhood that typically sees prices from $500,000 to upwards of one million dollars; today the savvy buyer may find a few REO properties in the $300,000 range. Built throughout the 1980's and 1990's, no two homes are exactly alike here, but all are loaded with high end features.

If you have an interest in seeing some of the homes in this lovely community, I would appreciate the opportunity to show you some of them. If you would like to browse own your own, just click here: Browse Homes
