That's right! The ever popular Blossoming Lotus, a vegan restarurant located in Kapaa, is closing it's doors as of December 31, 2008, this per the 12/23 Garden Island Newspaper. "Owner Gabe Zingaro wrote the restaurant would close, "barring a miracle" despite recent success, because of past debt it has been carrying." This eatery will greatly missed. I've enjoyed many tasty, relaxing, affordable and healthy meals here and am sorry to see it go. If you haven't ever enjoyed a meal here, or want to have one final supper, you better make your reservations quickly as I'm sure it will book quickly. Thanks to the owners for bringing such a delightful dining experience to our Island.

December 10 2008 Kauai REO Foreclosure Update

It's almost time to head out to the Performing Arts Center where the Honolulu Symphony will be performing two concerts this evening. Funded by a nice grant, this is the first time that the Honolulu Symphony has been to Kauai for 15 years. They spent most of the last two days traveling around to most every school on the island and performing in small groups: string quartets, string duo, brass ensembles, percussion trios, etc. Tonight the concerts are at 7 p.m. and 8:30.
