About Lahaina's Coconut Grove

The Coconut Grove at Kapalua Bay is one of the Kapalua Resort's smallest communities. Comprised of just 36 residences, this oceanfront neighborhood is also one of the Resort's most desirable locations. From January to October of 2008, there were no properties available. Within the past two months, four have been listed for sale at prices between $3,600,000 and $6,300,000. In the past two weeks, two Coconut Grove residences have closed #32 for $4,700,000 (oceanfront plan 4) and #10 for $3,600,000 (oceanview plan 3). Note: #10 was not actively listed for sale in the MLS. While this is historically a fairly slow time of year for our market and we have started to feel the effects of the mainland economic situation, the market at the Coconut Grove has remained very strong.

The Coconut Grove is a small enclave of low rise buildings, nestled on the world famous Kapalua Bay. Once named "America's Best Beach" by Dr. Beach, Kapalua Bay is a one of my favorite Maui beaches--a perfect crescent of white-sand, protected from large waves, with wonderful reefs for snorkeling.

The Coconut Grove is comprised of just 36 condominium residences in six oceanfront buildings and three oceanview buildings. Four distinctive three-bedroom floorplans within each building provide a variety of designs and orientations. Those on the ground floor enjoy private courtyards and outdoor living spaces, and those on the second floor feature spacious lanais. Regardless of the floorplan, the views of the ocean and the outer islands from these gracious residences are absolutely spectacular.

Properties don't come up for sale very often in this desirable beachfront community There's finally a new listing at the Coconut Grove, which is the first in many months. Next door, at the site of the Kapalua Bay Hotel, are the new Ritz-Carlton Club and Residences. Also adjacent to the Coconut Grove is the Kapalua Spa, which is scheduled to open in the Summer of 2009. To the left as you face the water, is Merriman's, which remodeled the famed Kapalua Bay Club location. It's just a short stroll across the street to the Pineapple Grill, which hosts a fun after-golf crowd. The Ritz-Carlton Kapalua, and shops and restaurants, are all within walking distance of this well located community.
