Yesterday was a beautiful fall Saturday in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. I took the opportunity to hike around Tubbs Hill on a "field trip" with my fellow exercise boot campers.
It was a lovely morning for a hike in our own urban forest. Tubbs Hill is located in downtown Coeur d'Alene. The natural trail winds along through the forest, overlooking beautiful Coeur d'Alene Lake. Hiking the circular main trail will take you along just under two miles of breathtaking scenery.
The trail begins at the 3rd Street docks on the Western side of Tubbs Hill. About 2/3 of the way around, hikers are treated to a pretty peek-a-boo view throught the trees of the stunning estate homes at Sanders Beach on the Eastern side of the hill. That's where the fun, wooden suspension bridge is found along the trail.
If you are looking for something to do one of these beautiful autumn days, consider taking in the sights, sounds and smells along the trail on Tubbs Hill. It is truly a treasure that we are blessed with.

Janna Rankin Scharf, GRI, CLHMS, SFR - Homes for Sale in downtown Coeur d'Alene
Downtown Coeur d'Alene, Idaho homes for sale bring a bit of a premium over similarly sized homes of the same era in other areas of our real estate market. The attraction, of course, is the proximity to our beautiful lakefront downtown with it's sandy city beach and park, quaint shops, restaurants galore and hopping night spots.
The closer to the center of action, the higher the price tag per square foot. Many historical homes, from bungalows to mansions, have been lovingly restored and remodeled with all the latest and greatest bells and whistles.
Many are in need of fixing, and there seems to be no shortage of people willing to snap them up as soon as they come on the market.

I had the opportunity yesterday, November 3rd, to be out and about, taking care of clients on and around spectacular Coeur d'Alene Lake. What a magnificent, glorious autumn day it was! The foliage was blazing in bright reds and golds. The lake was sparkling in the sunlight, a brilliant turquoise.
Here is a sneak preview of the slide show I will compile as soon as I get a chance. City Beach, on Coeur d'Alene Lake in Downtown Coeur d'Alene, was deserted except for a lone guitarist, strumming and singing to the wind. What a delightful scene it was!

During a municipal energy audit on a museum in Idaho this week I looked down from the equipment and did a double take. I have not seen one of these in 30 years, and this one is in the greatest shape. I know for certain not many gen-X or gen-Y people would have a clue what this is. This is the best thing since "sliced bread". I had such a fun day working in this building all day. It sure brought back a bunch of memories.
